Who or what would I have dancing around a Maypole?

So, here are my ultimate dancers........

Ermintrude from the Manic Roundabout as I always wanted one as a kid.

Zebedee, again from the Manic Roundabout because he bounced everywhere.

The Terminata, after several mmonths of anger management classes.

Inspector Mors(e), just to see him try.

Patrick Swayzee, I could Dirty Prance with his botty all day.

A Darlek from Dr Whoo.

John Travolta, Darcy Bussell, Boris Johnson, Ed Balls, my dear friends Christine and Kate, and me with my OH.
Construct a Maypole? No problem! Only needs a painted tall fence post with farmer's post-knocker-in, cut some different colours of feed bags up for the ribbons, and a calm day so they don't blow all over the place or in your face, and absolutely no terpsichory tuition needed because by the time we've done two rounds, we'll all have fallen down in a state of inebriation if my last un-named guest from another site provides the booze!

I spent yesterday morris dancing with 100 or so other like- minded souls. I'd choose dancers from Minster Strays, Bogart's Breakfast, Flag n Bone, Pecsaeton and Shrewsbury Lasses.

I have fond memories of doing maypole dancing when I was a child - I loved it - & surprisingly complicated with much potential for bashing into each other!

So I would choose people who would enjoy it and not take the **** to much - so definitely not my OH

My quest for the day is to try and find some cherry blossom for my table

Never failed in 41 years!.....this year looks like it may end up being replaced by apple blossom

Very strange really....when we got married ( next weekend is our anniversary) all the cherry trees were out in gardens, sides of roads...and was one reason we chose then to get married!

Ah well...global warming maybe?...certainly not because I'm further south vis everything is later here in the Spring.
