Bizarre afternoon

I went out to lunch with some friends yesterday. Lovely afternoon. I was asked by one couple for Sunday lunch today.

I spent the morning finishing planting the huge amount of plug plants that arrived this week then headed off for lunch. Having rung the door bell twice and almost given up, I was welcomed in by mine host with a glass of wine. Mine hostess was fairly obviously, had fairly obviously, um she was pissed.

They had another guest who had invited him/herself. The local cross dresser. Eventually the food arrived and said other guest and I tucked in with our hosts in a major argument in the kitchen.

What do I do to attract them?

I now can't stop laughing. I've known the cross dresser for several years but this is the first time I've met him in costume. I have seen him walking about in male clothes but in high heels. We had a conversation about the difficulty of walking on our ancient pavements in high heels. Sorry, this afternoon was so surreal.
