Sloes on the other side of the railway are looking pickable. We've already had some "wild plums". Great with a bit of extremely runny camembert. Slobber!

We went blackberrying today ... and found loads of sloes, yay-hay! Not ready yet, but we'll keep an eye on them. Found greengages too, never seen them before - apparently the best tasting of plums.
A friend said they were Bullaces, but bullaces are like sloes, almost interchangeable. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

Sloes are ready in the South West, I've been picking them the last week or so. A lot of the bushes have been stripped already, luckily I know some that are tucked away.
Can anyone tell me how you serve sloe gin? Never made it before but I dont know how to serve it once made!
