  • For all the night owls

Sunday night after 11pm there will be visible a metior shower, the Perseids.

Look to the North east and we are promised up to 100 metiors an hour. Lets hope that the sky staus clear. From what I can gather they will be at their best at about 2am.

    Hello Roitelet,
Thanks for the info. I will be up and watching the skies. I sat up for the Orionid shower in October and wasn't disapointed. I saw enough "shooting stars" to make all my wishes and still had a few to put in my poket and save for a rainy day
Lets hope the weather is fine and the skies are clear.

Thanks Roitelet, is it due to be visible in UK too? I've sat in the garden for hours on summer nights, watching for comets, meteors and hedgehogs. Only prob is I have to go to work on Monday, so I hope it will be worth watching.

              Hello Rustylady,
I live in France too but I heard it on BBC2 radio news so I'm sure it is visible from the UK. I'm like you too, sometimes I just stand outside and look up (and down) it's
surprising what you can see, even in the dark - Hope you see some shooting stars.
              Have fun,
              Clare

Thanks Clare, just now I could do with some shooting stars to wish on - not for me especially, more for my family. And it's peaceful sitting in the garden in the dark, looking at the stars somehow seems to put things in proportion.

The will be visible in the UK. Aged Parent (92) rang especially to tell me about them.

Rustylady and Nicos.....I am the same!
I stay in the garden at night watching the sky, listening to the sounds of my village going to 'sleep'. This and dawn are the best parts of the day
You can see the space station go over too......and satellites -
Saw 9 satellites and 12 shooting stars Sunday evening
Glad I am not alone in my night sky watchings...will always wonder if you guys are out watching too....and will beam you a good wishes next time I am out there!

Stayed up until about 3 last night and saw about 20 shooting stars one of which left a huge streek of light behind it. Amazing
