The stone Presidents are iconic - I hope you have/had a brilliant time exploring your beautiful country.
p.s any room for a Lumpy one in your suitcase next time?I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Thanks for the positive comments!
We got home yesterday afternoon after driving well over 2,750 miles. Saw a lot of amazing scenery and did a lot:horseback riding, floating down the Snake River, hiked up to a waterfall, drove through the Badlands, saw Mt. Rushmore, and spent time in the Tetons.
I had a good time but I've never been so glad to get home in my life!
The whole time I kept thinking about the cats, dogs, honeybees, and vegetable garden. (Our son and grandson took very good care of everything.) I'm just a homebody I guess.Last edited by DWSmith; 29-06-2017, 02:18 PM.Nutter's Club member.

Its a beautiful part of the world, DW.
Your photos brought back happy memories of a holiday in the National Parks, many years ago. I recognised Mt Rushmore, of course, and the Big Horn sheep, thought it was the Badlands and the Tetons but didn't expect to see snow on them in June. We were there in Nov/Dec - big mistake - snow everywhere
There's no place like home though and I'm sure all your pets and veg were pleased to have you back

Speaking of snow, it snowed there the week before we arrived. While we were hiking some trails we were just below 9,000 feet elevation (8,708 in one area). Snow blocked a short section of one of the trails so we walked around it. The snow was about 3' deep in that spot because it was shaded even though the temperature was in the 70*'s F. Most of the areal had no snow where we were but up a little higher and there was quite a bit more.Nutter's Club member.

Great photos, DW, thanks for sharing them with us. That's an awesome amount of driving you did. My sister and BiL drive from Florida to Maine every summer, stopping with various friends along the way and they usually plan on it taking a week, and that's only 1500 miles.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.
