This plant is growing in the flower bed at work, can anyone tell me what it is please?
Here are your clues -

It's perennial and did not lose its leaves last winter.
It looks to me a lot like marjoram, but no scent to flowers or leaves.
It's about 18" high.
The stems are square in section.

The seeds are small and germinate easily....i've got several little seedlings growing away at home

Is it a Lamium of some sort?

It certainly could be, VC, except I don't know of one that carries the flowers on long branched stalks mostly above the main bush of leaves.

Flower shape and stalk are definitely in the right area, but the individual flowers are about half the size of a regular dead-nettle.

No, the flowers are not open and flat, they are more tube-like, similar to dead nettle flowers but smaller. I'd like to think it was a lamium as VC suggested, but I've looked through about 20 different varieties, and none seem similar to this. I'm really flummoxed.

I think I've found it. Could it be hedge germander? Teucrium?

Yes, it's definitely germander but I'm not sure if it's wall germander or hedge germander, or if there is much of a difference between those. they look pretty much the same in goggle images. What had me a bit baffled is that most descriptions describe the leaf as aromatic, but it just smells leafy to me. Maybe it's my nose....
