  • Charitable Trust

There is a stong possibilty that the local Parks, Recreation and Allotments in our area are going to be taken over by a Charitable Trust because of cuts to the Council budget.

Will this be good or bad for allotmenteers? We'll just have to wait and see!

As Charities are supposed to be non-profit making organisations and arn't subject to tax as far as i know. it hopefully won't be too bad.

In our borough & three adjacent a single contractor has taken over based on 3 x 8 year contracts, so far it's not going well.

Promises that were made at the handover meeting have not been kept, staff TUPE'd over have left, they requested all communication via email but never reply until you escalate to a complaint. I've asked for the service level agreement and contract documents under the freedom of information act and have been contacting other site reps. They have advised us not to undertake the site inspections as they have no one to process at the moment, the list goes on and on ......
