Don't share your illegal activities though

    I'm a rebel because..................

I'm wearing socks marked Tuesday.............on Friday

I'm a rebel because I only have a very basic phone that just makes calls, don't do Facebook, U-Tube, Twitter etc, I play on swings and roundabouts if I get the chance, drink and smoke too much, sometimes use my walking stick when shopping as I get preferential treatment, don't begin talking by using the word "so," or use "management speak," and love being with my friend Kate because we're as daft as each other, and just because I'll be 70 next year I refuse to think I'm old because my mind is still only about 40 years of age. This all means I can get away with murder but am wise enough to have a cast-iron alibi!!
I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!

I'm a rebel because I was meant to have a glittering corporate career in the south east but instead I'm usually found in wellies, covered in mud and scratches with bits of plants in my hair in wild west Wales

... I'm more interested in how I feel than how I look.... I'd rather be a muddy mummy than a yummy mummy..... I do morris dancing and don't care what you think about that... I potty trained my children when I was sure they were ready, not when they hit a certain number... I'm interested in reading a great story, not the latest Big Thing... I help my children learn about risk, rather than stop them doing anything dangerous... I will always thank someone for a helpful e-mail, even when management says that's inefficient... I'd rather play any of the Elder Scrolls PC games than watch telly... I think that my husband painting figures and playing war games is brilliant, not sad... I'd rather weed than go out for a drink or a dinner party.

(Although I'd love a drink and a dinner party on the plot... )

I'm a rebel because I do NOT own a mobile phone, brick size, basic or top of the range.

Just because I am. My father in law said about me and my ex that you can't breed tame ones out of wild ones. I realised later that we were both the offspring of people who'd bucked the trend and survived. And this is over 50 years ago. I still put two fingers up to things and I'm supposedly a responsible 70 year old Town Councillor. I'll wear purple and embarrass my children and do frequently.

Which reminds me. My children gave me a family party for my birthday. I was introduced to my daughters new boyfriend who proceeded to "explain to me" as in translate what people were saying. I was at first insulted, actually, I still am. But I decided that if my daughter is serious about him I can have some fun. Because of a family event this week where my granddaughter told her mum what she thought of this bloke I came clean about my plans. Surprisingly my daughter is now in on it. We're all rebels! Let the fun begin.
