I am learning many things from this gardening lark. Not least of which is humility.
I have always had a rather snooty attitude towards wildlife in the uk, make no mistake I love it all, otherwise I wouldn't live where I do, but after a life in africa uk wildlife just can't compare, at least that's what my inner mind has been telling myself despite some fairly spectacular exceptions since I came back.
then yesterday I came across something I would call a stinkbug, not knowing they existed in the uk I researched it briefly, turned out to be a red legged shield bug, apparently common here, along with a few hundred similar bugs of that family.
