How are the leaves collected?

I live on one of the duke of buccleuch's country estates Outdoor Activities | Activities for Kids | Weddings | Bowhill,
there are the usual blower vacuum gadgets but the lawns are mostly swept with mini tractor drawn rolling brush type gadgets.

this years leaf falls are just starting off course, the mould goes to the quite extensive formal gardens and probably the walled kitchen gardens (which I haven't got into yet),

Looks like a lovely place, Alex. And those are some impressive piles of leaf mould. Oh for a lawn to protect!

Even though I live out in the countryside and have trees all around, I don't collect leaf mould. Our local forestry agent would fine me if he found out that I had. And as he comes round for a chat every now and then, and because we get on, I don't. It's very frustrating though.

I can't help but collect it, if I didn't my garden would be buried in leaves every year, my leaf bins are far less ambitious home made chicken mesh affairs, two of them so far, apparently the kitchen gardens here are no longer worked and have been turned to lawns, it's a crying shame really what used to supply the big house and the staff with fruit and veg growing grass!!

Big envy here too. I rake the neighbouring school field and the tye in the next village plus pillage the heap made in a local churchyard. Never enough and the car trailer with raised sides does about a dozen loads.
