  • Morning all, snow is a distant memory, thank goodness
I'm going to have a cooking day today, getting meals cooked for the freezer, oh and soup for the week.
This diet of mine needs a kick start.
Only the usual suspects like chilli, spag Bol etc
Soup will definitely involve butternut squash
Have a great day folks despite snow, ice and fog

No real plans for me today.
Might have a bash at domestic goddess stuff, but it might end up hand sewing watching TV.
I certainly need to get some swimming/excs in to boost my diet NS...the weight is very slowly still dropping though.
Tis my burpday weekend next week and already have been invited to 3meals out over the next 2weeks...plus whatever we have on the actual day....not gonna be easy!

Have a great day peeps....keep safe and warm!

Its the same here Flo couldn't see across the road early on the main roads are clear just left with 5inch of garden snow. we've got rain due later so that should help get rid of the snow.

        • I had too good a day yesterday... forgot to cover up the wood before bedtime and it rained in the night. Oops.

Anyway, Blade Runner 2049 was, frankly, a bit disappointing. But the bottle of wine was not. The Brussels Sprouts were a bit disappointing (smaller than marbles by the time I'd cut off all the nasty grey-mealy aphid bits). But the pork was not.

The crowning moment, however, was clicking the "confirm order" button for two beehives, one for me and one for a friend.

Anyway, grey, drizzly and dull today. I've just looked at the weather forecast: drizzle due every day this week except Thursday. I'll try not to mind... Looking forward to getting some seeds underway soon.

Have a lovely Sunday, everyone, indoors or out.

          • We still have grey and trying to snow that tiny fine stuff, but still on the cold side, glad that strong wind has gone, no traffic visible on the hill going to Montrose, don't know if it's closed again or not.

            • Morning All. Last nights snow has almost gone, just a bit of the lingering stuff left lying but the skies are murky and damp so it should be melting. Got to open the lotty trading shed in half an hour, though I can't honestly see anyone wanting to buy anything today.
              Enjoy the day

              • Good morning all.
Snow is slowly thawing but still several inches in my garden.
Raining that sleety rain and a gloomy grey sky.
Nothing much happening today but at least the newspapers are back on the shelves.
                Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • So far, I've done nothing!!!!

Actually, that's not quite true...I've been researching what places there are to visit on our 4day holiblob next weekend
Got quite a list so far...needs narrowing down depending on opening hours, tide times etc..this is almost as exciting as actually being there!

                    • Afternoon all. Dare I say it's still flemmin snowing . We had a pair of blackbirds trying to communicate with us this morning almost as if they were trying to speak. They looked cold and miserable. First task of the day was to clear some snow off the paved area at the back of the house and put out some blueberries, halved Apple's and suet pellets. The birds really struggle when it's as bad weatherwise for so long.

                      • Happy Sunny Sunday - its is now, at last.
Had some rain this morning which started to shift the snow and, after several days of waiting, I was able to open the front door without setting off an avalanche. Still can't open the side gate as the snow has drifted against it, front and back!
A few cars have made it up the hill and have started churning the snow into slush and the mountain road which joins the top of my road has been reopened to traffic. Things are improving by the minute; even the daffs are poking their heads through the snow now.
I'm keyholder for some neighbours, 4 doors downhill; they've moved back to Edinburgh. She's been worrying about whether there were any frozen pipes/leaks, so today, I picked my way through the slush and had a nose around. Fortunately, I didn't spot anything as I wouldn't have a clue how to fix it! Don't even know where their stopcock is.
The chooks are glad to see the back of the snow too, they've been lurking in their kennel while the snow has been swirling into their run. I've given them clean sheets for tonight, so they'll sleep well too.
Hope the weather is improving for you all.

                        • Good afternoon, a dull damp cold day, was going to have a quiet day laze about watch telly, someone had told OH about a tv program that they said was very good hunt me or find me or something like that, watched part of it but far too much swearing in for me, so will now go out to the greenhouse for a wee while, keep warm and remember it wont be long till you can get back into the garden
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                          • Very very foggy here but snow is thawing fast. I'm bored. I've shopped on line, read, cooked, crushed candy and ironed. Oh well, suppose I'll get into my PJs and go on the game
