  • Good morning all.
A mild start to the day though its so very grey.
Off to the hairdressers this morning then some shopping.
    Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

    • Morning, it was still dark at 8am this morning! Not too chilly although there is a wind blowing. Day in for domestic duties today. Didn't manage to get a Christmas tree yesterday as they only had small ones so it will be Thursday/Friday. There does seem to be a lot of lights up a lot earlier this year which I love.
Anyhoo, have a great day everyone whatever you are doing.

      • Mornin n'alln'all

Was up stupidly early to take the Landy in for more work.
Just been writing a few Xmas cards...need to do a few more to go to the UK , then that's sorted!

More tidying up for me...boy the place is a tip!
GL...you should send yr Mrs over to my place...then she'll really know what an untidy house is!!!

Still not got the boiler sorted..
        Part arriving on Friday..hopefully.
Thank goodness we have the wood stoves and a back up electric hot water system!

        Now then...here's the thing....
Every year I get a large tub of Celebration choccies for a lass over here andwhen I picked it up I thought I'd picked up the half eaten tub cos it felt quite light. Nope, it's a sealed tub.
So..off I trotted to check out the old tubs which I use to store sewing stuff...and suddenly realised that instead of being 855g it's only 680 g

Did I accidentally pick up a smaller tub, or is that now the standard size?...cos the price was the same as last year!
Just makes me feel like I'm not being as generous.

        • Nicos re: the chocs, my son in law who used to work in the industry explained it to me this way. The cost of keeping the size of whichever bar of chocolate or tub of sweets you buy the same as they were years ago (remember when you say this bar has shrunk since I was a child) would mean you would never buy it as it would be much too expensive therefore the item has to be reduced in size to maintain the price at a reasonable level. Believe that if you like!

            • Good afternoon, dull with a cold wind blowing, was over at Large this morning and the sea was very choppy, and according to the weather reports things will get worse, no matter if I want anything I will just send my wife for it Nicos can I send my OH also, as she thinks wherever I am the place looks untidy, watching the boy's just now and all the lights in the house are on I know its dark but why can't they switch off the lights where there is no one needing them on I had to go into the school today to order some tickets for the school panto. My daughter wanted four tickets, which I had to pay for and the chances of seeing the money for them!!!!!!! well all I can say is her mother has taught her well Need to go just now and feed the boy's, catch you latter

              • The above should have read Largs, which is a seaside town in Ayrshire, not Large which came from the auto correct

                • Finally we had rain last night and this morning, light showers that just soaked into the ground without doing damage. The freesias are beginning to shoot up and so are some of the daffodils.

                  • Evening all.
Returned from work and hubby has had a bad fall whilst out walking. Thankfully, very near home.
Got his foot caught in some builders mesh left out and down he went.
Pulled muscle in leg and probably at least 3 broken ribs.
Never picks his feet up, always telling him about it, and obviously doesn't look where he's going.
I must have a look in the medicine cupboard and see what better pain killers we have.
I do feel sorry for him
Have a lovely evening, I will have my nurses uniform on ......

They've actually got a word for it now---sizeflation! Really!

Before shopping it's worth checking prices on herehttp://www.mysupermarket.co.uk
                      Maybe there's a French equivalent.
