  • Good afternoon, its cold here and showers, had to see about getting the car repaired, then had a hair cut, well a wee bit spit and polish after that I went over to the shore and collected some seaweed, got four bags would have collected more but it was bitter cold and started raining, and it turned out to be quite a heavy shower. While I was collecting the seaweed, one of my poly bags started to blow away, but a young woman stopped it and then asked what I was going to do with the seaweed, and we finished up talking about the benefits of seaweed in the garden, and when I say young she was about my age early fifties or possibly younger, but had no idea you could use seaweed in the garden, just shows, she goes out every day to walk her dog along the beach and usually loads of it about but didn't know it could be used in the garden

    • Good evening all.
We had a good day here with quite a bit of sunshine.
Spent the afternoon in the garden weeding.
My Begonia seeds have germinated but they are tiny.
The crocus are all in bloom in the park.
Had a nice walk around the gardeners are pruning the roses in the rose garden.
      Had a productive day.
Wrap up well, it's cold out there.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • Was out a short time ago to walk my sons dog, we are having a sleep over he is out celebrating his fiftieth birthday, when it was my fiftieth I was at work as usual what gives nowadays that they have to celebrate birthdays, when all we want to do is forget them, anyway was out walking the dog and it was cold with a clear sky and a bright moon, thought it was going to be frosty, now cloudy nd the temperature had risen, the weather is so unpredictable, and hard to understand mother nature

His fiftieth That's a remarkable age for a dog
But seriously, haven't you given away your age, rary!! If your son is 50, you must have been at least 20 when he was born, so you're 70+. What an old weirdo you are.

                  • Morning All -2 this morning outside at 6:00 and O degrees at 9:00 with lowest temperatures recorded in the greenhouse of between -2.2 to -0.2 over night from the 10 monitoring locations and that was with the terracotta pot candle heater. I'm so glad the chitting spud are in the warm part of the greenhouse, the over wintering onions are hardy enough to stand the cold.

ALERT FOR VEGETARIANS: DON'T LOOK AT THE LINK

It was on here and it was this:

I had to check just now just for you Rary: it's described as "Raw Kangaroo Meat". You'd certainly get some looks wandering about in it here. Might even get the odd hunter taking a pot shot at you.

Anyway, sunny here today. But very, very cold so I've got the range going. The computer is going, but I don't trust it... New one to be ordered today.

A bit of a dull start to the day and temp just 3 deg.
Off out to see the eye specialist this morning and hoping for good results.

And B.C. it's just as well I have good bladder control as after reading your opening comments (and its not the dog who is fifty) the tears could have been running down my leg, and any way I was married very very young (any age below fifty is very young to be married) and my age had held steady since I was fiftytwo or should that be fifty too

                              • Very nice morning. Sunny, almost clear sky, just a few wispy clouds.

6C/43F in shade but feels warmer in sun. No wind at all.

Quite a few honey bees on honeysuckle, noticed them first time yesterday. Usual stalwart bumbles about, only rain seems to stop them.

Must have been freezing at some time as there's residual ice in buckets and butts.

Got to water epiphytes and some succulents in green houses. Got to move OH's fuchsias out so I can get in!
