Teenage boys: Aftershave. Perfect gift for the image conscious kid as they start going to parties, socialising, bit later nights out, clubs, *meeting girls* (or boys).. guaranteed winner
Calvin Klein was the brand of choice in my youth. The name is as important as what it smells like (to some) so if you wanted to save a few quid you could be really crafty and buy a bottle of something budget but smells pleasant, get a funnel, and pour it into an empty 'designer' bottle and then just wrap it up nicely haha.. tbh though if you shop around there are good deals to be had. And there's loads of less exclusive names around but still perfectly good, in the £10 - £25 bracket.
If you're stuck for which to get just browse the review sites, that's what I tend to do.

It's a great gift for a bloke of any age

NG, if it’s veg or nowt, then perhaps some good looking and edible plants.
Safron crocus bulbs for a treat, or some slightly more unusual flowering herbs such as lovage, borage - or some common ones they don’t have already like sage, rosemary, marjoram etc

Any hobbies? In general I would prefer small things to one big thing (unless there was something in particular) - kind of a santa sack for grown ups.

                An item of clothing
                A good book
                A movie or music
Something smelly (nice) - for me it would be handcream my hands are a state but if she is a bath person
                Something to eat/drink
                Something cosy - slippers/ slipper socks/ scarf
Then something silly - toy/puzzle/cuddly/ a voucher book i.e slave for a day, a day trip out of her choice etc.

Thanks Nicos, I will ignore the last two posts,
And the follow up post said drop off a couple of zeros from the cost. I do like the idea of lots of small parcels as a lot of the fun is in opening them, I have a number of empty boxes, just need to find some wrapping paper, or even newspaper, I will away and search the recycle bin and why would she need a hot water bottle, she has me!!!
On a more serious note this morning she was crumbling up biscuits to do some baking and having difficulty getting the lid onto the shredding machine thing she uses, could you recommend an easy to use machine for crumbling biscuits etc.
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Put the biscuits in a plastic bag and roll over them with a rolling pin or an empty bottle!

^^ Are you talking about a food processor, Rary?

Yeah, a rolling pin. Also great for breaking up choc and relieving stress.

Edit: VC beat me to it, although she seems to be calmer in the kitchen then me I put them in a bowl and pummel them with the end of the rolling pin.

It could be a food processor that she has Snoop, but she has difficulty using the thing with the blades, since she broke her wrist she has no strength to turn things and the lid needs to be turned to lock, and as much as I like the idea of using a rolling pin or bottle (cheaper) her wrists are not strong enough to wield them

Well. after much deliberation I have decided what to get for hubby. A "flight experience" in a light aircraft at the local flying club where he gets to take the controls!!!!!

He doesn't need anything but I really think this will float his boat (or fly his kite)

I do have slight reservations as somewhere in the dim and distant past I seem to remember an episode of Some mothers do have 'em where Frank Spencer took a flying lesson...............

Anyway just thought I'd mention it for anyone else struggling to find a present.

It's cheaper to book direct with your local aero club than through a third party site.
