I already know my pressies and love them all:-
Fiction books - from girls (to unwrap on the day)
Tweed gilet - from Hubby (to unwrap on the day)
Boots - from Dad (early pressie he wasn't impressed with the state of my old ones) oh and some country print scarves
Dubarry boot liners and handwarmer - from Brother (early pressie)
Pink Lemonade blueberry bush - from MiL (early pressie needed potting on)
I have been really, really spoilt this year for pressies. Mostly clothes due to losing weight, feeling more human in 5 years and bothering for once .

Craft supplies! Always craft supplies.
My copic multiliner pens are almost out of ink, would rather like the more expensive set that can be refilled. A few additional copic art marker colours wouldn't go unappreciated. I can always use more good yarn fibre blends to spin, and vouchers for world of wool mean I can order my own custom blends to play with.
The Spouse and I are doing stockings for each other. Well, I say "stockings". We've given each other a £50 budget to play with (which I think is the highest budget we've ever had except when our "Christmas gifts" to each other were a replacement washing machine and a replacement oven!), with the idea being to get a bunch of smaller, fun things. That'll likely translate to a book each, something sweet to eat, craft and/or gaming supplies, new pyjamas and maybe something unexpected.
Little sis-in-law is experiencing her first year out of uni at the moment, working shift jobs and paying council tax and all those fun adult things that can make you panic at first. We both know what it's like to struggle financially, so since we can actually afford it this year we're throwing all our money at her! She'll be getting a nice lump of cash she can spend as she needs, a gift to open because she probably won't be getting much to unwrap, and I'll probably put in a grocery order delivered to her flat with some surprise festive treats in it.

Nobody listens to my hints. I will get the usual lot of expensive bath products that I can’t ever use. I’ve told them time and time again that I can’t use perfumed products in my bath as they react badly with me. I end up giving them away to charities. I only have a bath when I feel like relaxing with a book for a couple of hours as it takes so long to fill. I shower every day. I live for the day they give me stuff for my garden."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

I don't want anything and I don't expect anything - nor do I give anything
We all decided years ago that it was better to buy yourself something you really wanted than struggle to find something for a gift that would not be wanted and given away to charity afterwards. Total wast of money, time and effort.
I don't send cards either but make a donation to a charity in lieu.
Saves us a lot of hassle and we all have a enjoyable time, switching off to commercialism.
I recommend it

Biltong making drying cabinet (I could just build my own I guess, they're quite basic in how they work, main difference between bought and made is just cosmetic), and a decent (safe) chopping block / cutter. A few raw ingredients, some spices - no problem there - and I'd be set to get up and running

I spent too much on myself during the year but I suspect I might get a gift card or maybe two from my kids. I am just wishing a good, safe holiday for others and hoping my bees survive the winter.
I've changed my mind. I want a new president. Someone who is normal.Last edited by DWSmith; 06-12-2017, 07:37 PM.Nutter's Club member.
