  • Good evening, hope every one had a good day, was at our sons for dinner, with the rest of the family, and had a very good meal, after dinner there was a game of charades, which wasn't too bad but then moved on to some game about films and music, I still want to know why there were no questions about films of the fifties and sixties, or music questions from the time of the greatest music, the sixties, seventies and eighties, I could have answered one or two questions from then but after that it stopped being music to listen to Now time for bed, if you are feeling down I hope things get better tomorrow, if you are feeling content and happy let it continue. Goodnight

    • Well weatherwise the day was a washout.
      Wet, mucky and grey.
Dinner was a great success and some unexpected friends came by
How ever the biggest surprise came when my sons partener said...
We have some news.....She is 12 weeks pregnant. The most precious gift ever.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

      • Thank you all for your company yesterday as it made the day very enjoyable.

Now, the next 'big' one is only a few days away and I will be trumpeting about if anyone wants some large (but very cuddly) company on New Years Eve and Day.

It is better in year 2, if you can wait that long. I also prefer Damson or Bullace gin compared to Sloe, but a mixture of Bullace/and Sloe works quite nicely too.

It all depends if you have a sweet tooth or not, Sloes are drier and more bitter than Damsons or Bullaces so need more sugar in the gin to balance out the tartness. Damson gin I find is very much like a sweet glass of squash, it doesn't taste alcoholic at all until you've had a very large measure then you realise why home brew is so potent.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
