  • Have spent the best part of the last six hours pottering in the garden in the sunshine. My back and legs ache from all the squatting and bending I've done, but they ache in a good way Also, think of all the calories I've burned! I just wish I could find a realistic estimate - the online calorie counter I'm using must think gardening is all heavy digging and lugging heavy bags of soil about, when a lot of it has been sowing seeds and breaking up clumps of compost from containers. And estimates vary wildly between different websites. Still, it's a much better way to burn calories than sitting on the exercise bike!

    • My parcel came. I am now the proud owner of an enormous salad spinner ready for all the greens I can grow!

      First job is going to be to dry the chard I cut today. Then it's chard omelette for tea

        • Robin missing from the flower pot nest

          No eggs

          Replaced by a wriggly squirmy baby with a big beak.
          Don't know how many there are yet.

          EDIT - 5 babies - all eggs hatched.

          • been lottie,put nearly 80 BB plants in,sowed some bean seeds,gave son some for his plot,
            weather just nice for me,gets home and looks at madam,lifts her out for a look,my word feist thing,she must be feeling better,even eaten a very small amount
