    • Not happy but it did make me laugh.
Decided this morning to oil my hair so did that and put Jim jams back on as it’s been raining since last night and I had no intention of going out.

At 1.30 ish the door goes. It’s Phil the plumber coming to give me a quote for an outside tap.

The look on his rather handsome face was hilarious. There was I standing in the best jim jams ever even though the red checks are completely washed out and nearly every edge is frayed with a multicoloured shower cap on my head letting the oil on my hair brew.

I let this Adonis of a man (I wish I was young) in and his face became rigid with fear as he saw me walking next to him holding my jim jam bottoms up because the elastic went weeks ago

      It was brilliant.

        • It's raining that's not good, but it hasn't stopped me watching Mr & Mrs Robin (mainly the Mrs I might add) popping in and out of the hedge repeatedly, where they must have a nest.

I haven't been to check as I don't want to frighten them off As I look at the screen if I raise my eyes I can see them, without them noticing me inside. Awww

              • I just bought a ticket for Hamilton.

I go to the theatre a lot, but I'm not into musicals. I don't listen to hip hop. I don't know much about early US history. The ticket was eye wateringly expensive and I'll have to stay overnight in London to add to the cost. Also, to get a good seat, I've had to book six months in advance so I'll not be going until late October. I should get a great view, but the seats are apparently very uncomfortable with almost no leg room.

So why is this on the happy thread and not the rant thread? Because despite my lack of interest in music/musicals, I really, really want to see it!

                  • What makes me happy.
A beautiful sunny day, when the rain that was forecast never came.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                    • Had a really good day for assorted reasons. Mr Snoop phoned, friend came round and said he'll plough tomorrow if it doesn't rain overnight (fingers crossed), had a good lunch with another friend, had an afternoon nap and then did some scything. So what if it looks rough. I don't care.

                        • My lemon and parsley shrub has apparently sat long enough to really come into its own. One part shrub with four parts fizzy water and it's a complex sour herb drink. It's better than it sounds!

Also, I built the obelisk I bought from Wilko. The thing is enormous. Can't wait until my sweet peas are growing all over it Might get another for my cucumbers...

                          • Finally reclaimed the backyard from the debris left over from the house being re-roofed. Nails, litter, slate shards, bits of battens, insulating material... It was horrific. Lovely to look out there and see something usable again.
