  • Seed box out of the cupboard.
    More seeds ordered.
Pots with soil in warming up in shed.
Tatties nestled in an egg box.
Big, oblong plastic cloches on top of raised beds warming soil.

phew now off for a lie down till spring.....................

p.s I have a pathetically small seed collection - do you give lessons VC on how to become an accomplished seed hoarder?

    • (It takes significant planning, bikermike, because I have to set my alarm both for getting up and when I need to leave the plot, make a portable breakfast, set up my coffee mug and pack my work clothes - I go straight on to work after the plot - the night before. Doing all that rather makes a commitment of it. )

        • What makes me happy?

People like my very long term friend who, with loads of others will buy Easter Eggs, get on there motorcycles and deliver them to be given to disadvantaged children after the annual Egg Run.

They do Crimbo runs with loads of childrens pressies and The Ring Of Red, which raises funds for military charities every year.

As the biker saying goes 'the good never remembered, the bad never forgotten'. Well. this year Chris and mates I hope High Beach see's you ride safe in the sunshine.

p.s now all who read this know as well.

          • Its a sad but happy day as I've sold my little house by the sea. After the sale dragging on for months, we exchanged and completed today.
Even better, I've been down there clearing out and cleaning up and, while I was there, had a message to say that, if they could move in today, not to worry about cleaning it and they would deal with whatever was left behind. I didn't need telling twice, the hoover was packed away immediately.
My ex-neighbours have been so helpful - carrying my stuff down 50 steps to the car is not for the fainthearted!
I'm sorry to leave them as they were great fun and could always be relied upon for a cuppa or summat stronger - even a meal when the cupboard's been bare.
The end of another chapter in VC's Book of Life. I've enjoyed reading it.

              • The extremely sad bit was finding a tin full of seeds, well past their sow by dates
The Happy bit was emptying the packets in the garden so the new owners may have a surprise cabbage or lettuce popping up where they least expect it!

                • My exceptionally happy news is that my car has been fixed!!!!L

( the fact that I was following my OH home in the old Landy ..and noticed the temperature gauge has given up the ghost, certainly was outweighed by one of the windscreen wipers flying off as I was driving along the by-pass)

                  Just gotta larf ain't ya!?
