    • Plus, I think Cadalot's mini rant about buying a propagating thingy should really be on this thread. So that's another one.

Not the easiest thing to photograph in an appetising way...

Oh, and that's not my duvet in the background (I wasn't eating in bed!) - it's cold in my house and I usually have a blanket over my knees when I'm sitting on the settee at this time of year. The thermometer that's been sat next to the radiator is reading 16 C so I suspect rather chillier on this side of the room.

I'm looking forward to later in the year when I can make the potato salad again, using my own potatoes, parsley, spring onions and chives. Not my own eggs though, but maybe one day.

                            • After seeing the snow this morning, I turned the heating on and crawled back under my duvet to stay warm until the house heated up a bit. Suddenly realised that not only did I have leftover hard-boiled eggs (from making potato salad), I also had a tray of cress and mustard that was ready to harvest and a few slices of bread as I made sandwiches for recent visitors. This is a rare convergence of events, as I hardly ever have bread at home. All this could mean only one thing: an egg and cress sandwich, my absolute favourite

My living room is still 12 degrees C, but I have a belly full of eggy goodness! (At more than a third of my calories for the sedentary day I am expecting, it had better keep me nice and full!)

I had some doubts about the responsiveness of my thermometer, so I have had it stuffed it down my top for the last five minutes. As I know roughly what my body temperature should be, that should give me an idea of it's accuracy. Aaaaaaaand, it's reading 35 degrees C. Wow, my living room is colder than I think, but at least my thermometer is accurate!
