  • 10 year anniversary gift ideas

I know I suck at gifts anyway but I think my brain is only functioning on a very very low level as I can't think of anything and what I have looked at just seems like expensive tat.

So any help or ideas appreciated. Nothing lavish just something. We have laughed and joked that we will probably miss it as usual and realise a couple of days after. Yep, we really aren't very soppy but I feel just a little something as it is our 10th would be good .

    Thanks as always x

I'd probably opt for 10 of something edible, arranged in a decorative tin which could be kept. Maybe 10 luxury handmade/homemade truffles in a fancy tin?

            Your 10th!...ok...congratulations

OH and I always go out for the day on our birthdays and anniversaries...up to 90 minutes drive away and just take the day exploring...maybe have lunch out ....and make something simple for the evening with a bottle of fizz in the evening perhaps?
It does mean taking a day of annual leave if you are employed...but that makes it feel even more special

I have a problem. I don't know what this is the 10th of! Is it wedding; meeting; starting the allotment; setting up home together or what? Also is it for a female? I assume it is for a female

If it is wedding/meeting how about a gift that brings back memories of the day. No, not a bucket of water because it rained all day. How about a bouquet of flowers that look like the flowers the bride carried on the day. Or like the flowers that were on the table at the reception.

Or how about a voucher for a spa giving a facial massage. You could expand that to various levels of massage (head and back or full body) As you are on an allotment site I don't think a nail bar would do.

How about a surprise party at home with a few of the wedding guests. You can get some very nice finger buffet items from shops or local bakeries. Just a bit of booze and off you go.

Good luck and hope it works out ok.

P.S. you could go over the top and get a meal out with friends and family to include flowers and a 10th anniversary cake.

P.P.S. you could go to a pantomime!!!

Could you perhaps plant a rose bush with an appropriate name.
Can't think of any off the top of my head but there are rose bushes for almost every occasion.
Perhaps have a formal pic taken of you both on the day.
A bottle of wine or fizz with your name inscribed on the label.
A day out planned by you as a surprise for her.
                Dinner in an intimate restaurant.
A ready meal delivered to the door.
                A tattoo for you both.
                A T
train trip out to somewhere that means something to you both.
Walk on the beach at sunset and then a meal or a drink.
Hope some of these ideas may help.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Oops! Sorry. My 10th wedding anniversary. Present for Hubby. We got married in Barbados whilst on a cruise in the Caribbean only witnesses were photographer and the organiser (and some random hotel guest onlookers).

Strange you should say that. He made a rude comment about me at Christmas at which my response was 'I know what to get you now for our 10th anniversary......a divorce!' I was joking.

Thank you all. I am loving the ideas. I like the idea of eating out somewhere but the girls will be with us (can't bring myself to relax, be selfish and leave them with someone) So thinking maybe creams tea/ waffle house/ ice cream parlour and team it up with something in the area but not sure what.

I think I will also make a piece of art work for him as well.

as an alternative, how about a tree somewhere?
Bottle of something nice that is ten years old?

we bought my parents-in-law a hardwood bench. Is there space in your plot for such a thing?

............or 5 if you believe the mattress sellers
I'd plant a special tree, one you could watch grow and photograph every anniversary, watching it change as the years go by.
Or a Woodland Trust tree in a wood nearby that you could visit with your family Anniversaries

or membership of an society with places you can visit - English heritage, Woodland Trust, National Trust, RHS etc.

Ok for a male!!! Most difficult.

A fig tree! Upgrade his shed and give him a padlock! Go to Nearly Normal for Norfolk and have lunch and a walk around. Go to Dereham and have a trip on a steam train. You could still buy him a spa "experience". Obviously the nail bar is definitely out. You could get him a foot pamper session. Chance to drive a fast track car and the family would get a day out.

                              Hope this helps

                              Bill

P.S. had the nieces husband to buy for so these have already gone through my mind.
