I took my son to the airport very early on Wednesday morning with a quick detour down some very rural lanes to pick up his friend. I saw rabbits, foxes, owls and various other scurrying creatures that I haven't seen for a long time since I've moved to a rural town. A big village really, but not the farm I'm used to.
A quick look around the garden this morning shows how many plants I couldn't rescue have so far survived the winter. Mostly strawberries and geraniums, but surprisingly citrus trees and grapes (we are survivors).
