My hair

I recently had it cut off from just above shoulder height. I've lived with it all my life. It is as straight as a yard of pumpwater as my mum used to say. It is very fine but also there's a lot of it. I didn't ask for it to be this short and wanted it to be long enough that i could tie it back out of the wind. I'm living with hair so fine that its as if i have cobwebs across my my face every day. The only consolation is that it will grow.

Your hair sounds a bit like mine (hairdresser used to call it baby hair). Question! Do you use conditioner? I used it for years. The difference since I stopped is amazing. Pity it's grey\white now.

No, I only used to use conditioner on the ends. It makes my hair look even more unwashed if I use it near the roots. I've bought a beanie to keep it out of my eyes when i'm out as I can't find anything else in town that does the same job (ie alice band, hair band, etc). My children aren't impressed.

Haha Potty, I've been waiting for someone to say that
I know many people who have lost their hair completely after chemo who would be glad to have any hair - thin or fat.

I'm not really complaining or I'd've been on the rant forum. I actually like my hair I'm just not used to it being so short. This is only the third time I've done this in 50+ years.

In my case what hasn't turned white has fallen out. I've tried to grow long hair but then I see what some other bald guys look like with long fringe and I head to the barber shop or have my wife buzz it as short as the hair clippers can cut it.

After all, I don't have to look at it that often since it doesn't have to be combed.

You may want to try a buzz cut.

I had a similar problem when a trainee hairdresser kept shortening the sides trying to get left and right the same length. My bobble hat got a lot of use at first, as I found it much more effective than clips when out in windy weather. However, it gets a bit warm after midApril...

Will your hair ‘hold’ a plait?
If so, then 2x French plaits, 2x bunches and single French plait should all be possible before ponytails.
Whilst I would never have worn bunches for work(!), they are fine for the back garden at the weekend

Instead of conditioner, even on the ends try olive oil.

Heat it up a bit in a dish, dip a comb or brush into it, brush it in till hair is completely oiled, shove a shower cap on and leave for a few hours. Shampoo it out though it might take two washes with a mild shampoo.

Done once a week hair is more than happy as its been fed.

PS - this was going to be a bench - but it's didn't work out. Chainsaw art is hard!

My aunt was a hair dresser and always used to cut my hair. I've only had it cut twice since she passed away 17 years ago. Both times I wasn't happy with it. No one will ever go near my hair with scissors again.

My hair is a real disaster for me. It just sticks out in all directions and it's really hard to make it look as I want. I tried almost half of hair gels from a list (with more advertising) but none of it is good for me... And the disadvantage of those remedies is that my hair becomes shiny and I hate such kind of effect...
