Cheers DannyK - I understand the label changed to make it PC. I'm still not going to buy it.

When I was younger I used to drink very strong (two teaspoons per mug) instant coffee.
Now I have a weak (half a teaspoon) coffee with breakfast, a mug of Lady Grey tea at lunch, then a potful of green tea with lemon when I get home from work, that's about 3 mugs worth. At supper time I'll have chamomile tea or green tea, or in the summer when the mint is growing well, mint tea. All unsweetened and no milk.

I usually add peppermint essence to the coffee, or sometimes rosewater

At weekends I occasionally make a pot of proper coffee and drink it through the day, adding more water as the day goes on, so the coffee gets weaker and weaker.

          Endless wonder.

I drink black coffee, last cup around 2 or 3 with an ocassionaly cup of hot water with a slice of lemon, then I'm onto water, and I love fizz or dry white later on if it's a wine day.

I've just found a lovely drink for after eight ....seedsip, alcohol free gin, I had my first one this week - it's delicious!

First cup in the morning must be tea, no milk or sugar, a cup of coffee about 11, usually a cup of tea with a meal, occasionally dandelion coffee, which I find very good as you can get two cups from the one spoonful of coffee, I did prefer loose leaf tea to the teabag that you get now, and aIr remember my mother telling me about the camp coffee that she had to drink when she was young

That would have been when it was first produced in 1876. Of course you wouldn't have been born until some time later than that, I know you cant be that old and still be breathing!

Camp Coffee is a Scottish food product, which was first produced in 1876 by Paterson & Sons Ltd., in a plant on Charlotte Street, Glasgow.

It didn't make its way down to Wales until after WW2, however. You Scots keep all the "best" to yourselves.

Its a bit "Brief Encounter" here sometimes...

Anyhow - camp 'coffee' is horrendous stuff... no wonder the Yanks needed something just a little bit like the coffee they were used to when they came over here saving us from the Nazis, crippling our post war economy, introducing 'nylons' to the 'ladies' and bringing the Empire to an end
I quite like instant coffee vis a vis the stuff you pay over the odds for at the coffee shops...

There are a lot of good things that come from Scotland, other than Camp coffee and whisky, especially at this time of year when you have a lot of Burns Suppers, with that iconic food haggis, neeps and tatties, along with the food for the soul, poetry by Robert Burns

Breakfast cup of Yorkshire tea first thing, thyme or rosemary tea in a pot for one at work, tea in a dainty cup and saucer at tea time and glass of wine or two evenings, coffee occasionally at weekends in a small cup. It's also about the vessel!

Yes FF it has a unique taste, and when I was young people couldn't afford to buy real coffee, so it served a good purpose, and to be honest I still have a cup on a rare occasion

Big mug of tea, fairly strong, with milk but no sugar first thing in the morning. Sometimes 2. I drink instant coffee during the morning, with milk and one sweetener. If I have visitors i’ll put the filter machine on. I prefer it to instant but I don’t drink enough of it to put the machine on just for me. Then tea or water whenever i’m thirsty. I have never liked coke. When my siblings and I had fizzy drinks when we were children, they’d have coke and I had ginger beer, which I still drink occasionally.

As for the stuff they serve in coffee shops, especially Costa and Starbucks, I find it the most disgusting muck ever invented.

                                Coffee
                                Water
                                Lager
                                Red Wine

                                In that order.

Tea is for old people (and weirdos).
.......because you're thinking of putting the kettle on and making a pot of tea perhaps, you old weirdo. (Veggie Chicken - 25/01/18)
