Now, as for your question 'how has this happened' well, first there is a female (not necessary in all species but thats another thread. Then there is a male (as above not always necessary) and they meet. dance and like (sometimes) each other. They hold flippers, tentacles (yes tentacles not wotsits), wings etc get all smoochy and..........................
