    A new fifth season if you like....

    Called Winter-Spring.... It’s when it should be spring, but winter won’t b@gger off!

      Today's weather is simply Mother Nature's way of pointing out to the |Met Office that actually Spring does not start on 1st March as they would have it, but on the Spring equinox, which this year is 20th March. It will be sunny by then.

          I have a mirabelle just coming into flower...fingers crossed the cold doesn't zap the fruit again this year.
          Last year we had no apples or cherries or plums at all...just the late pear

            Haha .....how about a new 7 day week......2 saturdays.2 Sundays .2 Pay days and 1 day off......that would give us more time eh..???.

                Yep it is still WInter: Dec 21 to Mar 20. So we have snow in winter. Whatever next?

                  True, it's why we have the old saying 'Ne'er cast a clout till May be out'
                  Well in the 1700’s hawthorn actually flowered in May which is presumably why it’s often called May. So it didn’t really matter whether it meant the tree or the month the “meaning” of the saying was the same – don’t discard your extra winter layers until the May is in flower or we reach the month of May.
