Nothing new under the sun? Or am I just feeling old?

Either way, the more people who get into gardening, the better for the world:

I've been watching him for a while - he is Welsh after all
I like his short videos - the all you need to know about growing ****** in 90 seconds, ones. (I made up the title). Straight to the point, no waffle.
Its good to see some young blood with rugby scars rather than the wrinkled old retainers that keep on being trotted out on TV.

remember, even Alan Titchmarsh was young once...

I'm mixed about this, ATEOD, gardening is an experience-based activity, the more you have done, the more you have learned. At the same time, anything encouraging new interest is a good thing.

Balance in all things as ever.

anyway, what about us middle-aged types with rugby (and other) scars?

Been noticing Huw for a few years now. Some of what he does is at the basics level, but that is great to bring in new gardeners and young blood. His careful and deliberate delivery make him very accessable, mostly he seems to get the content and time length about right and for a one man band that is impressive. Sometimes I think he's just making content to fulfil a schedule of posting but that critisicm is relavent to most yootoobers.
We can all learn from one another and sometimes reviewing the basics does even the more experienced gardeners a bit of good. So Huw is highly recommended.

In the latest video I've seen of Huw, he has an arrow pointing to an injury on his face, with the words "Don't play rugby".
I don't remember Alan Titchmarsh, Carol Klein or Monty Don ever being young.

Well, you really begged the question:

Are we talking swash-buckling swordfight type scars or appendectomy and fell-off-the-ladder type scars?

The good thing about the young, nubile gardeners slowly appearing is they seem to understand the idea of 'small' space growing and many have the attitude of 'if in doubt shove it in a pot and see what happens'

The old guard who have jewel gardens etc talk about small and tiny being slightly less than their old cricket pitch.

                        heh!
no swashes were buckled in the making of scars
                        1 door (aged three)
1 motorbike racing (cut my finger on a step-ladder holding out fuel rig up)
1 tea-making (well, I managed to get a blister on my hand carrying too many hot mugs and I've managed to take the top off it)...

so probably more at the Alan Tichmarsh than Errol Flynn end of the scale...

That's not many. No scars from burns caused by exploding fuel rigs? (I knew there'd be a ladder in there somewhere, but I wasn't expecting it to be deployed for such a dangerous reason.)
