As I had more time to browse through the Vine recently I have found it fascinating how different people garden, their are some who keep meticulous records, and their are some who keep ridiculous records (me) some folk work like Trojans while others will do a bit here and there, people who record by camera and others with pen and paper (computer included), some spend a lot of time working their plot while others have only a limited time to be on it, people who have carpentry skills that could make you envious, and others who can't hit a nail, folk who have their garden laid out in pristine conditions and others who shove it here or plant it there, folk who like to tinker with things in the garden and folk who cook and preserve a lot of their garden produce, others who grow vegetables only while some like a mixed garden of flowers and veg. There are a lot of different people with a lot of different ways of doing their gardening, but I do hope everyone enjoys their gardening their way.

good innit?
I always like to read stuff about how and why people do things - it's amazing what you can learn from seeing how others have approached a problem
presumably Trojans would have very large wooden planters shaped like horses and be resolutely ignoring the greek sniggering coming from inside them?

I do actually have a plan drawn out on graph paper. Because the previous owners virtually covered the garden in sheds and next door moved their fence 5' into my garden and I had to fight to get back I now have a blank canvas. However, the remains of the original kitchen are under the soil so the plans are having to be revised in accordance with what we hit when digging. This means a lot is somewhat random.
I'll work out how to post piccies from my Ipad then you can see what I'm up against."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
"It is neccessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live" (also Alexandre Dumas)

It is fantastic isn't it.
I love that whilst everyone here is joined by the 'gardening' element there is so much more going on as well and generally it works. So lots of tips, tricks and pinching ideas for gardening then a bit of help, support and fun for anything else that just happens to be going on.

Me well..................I don't keep records as I'd never bother reading them. I shove stuff in willy nilly to see what happens (if anything). I like a mix of edibles and pretties (normally bee friendly) and generally do stuff when a) I can be bothered or b) I realise I'm so far behind.
I have mad days of perpetual 'doing' followed by days of 'not doing'
Gardenings good innit!I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Love it.
I get periods of absolute obsession, where whenever I'm not at the plot, I plotting how to get back to the plot... and other times where I'm a bit more laid back, and then winter when I can't be bothered at all.
It's famine or feast with me. Rather like courgettes.
