We don't seem to have a thread for toys, so here goes.
I have had cordless tools in the past and to be honest they were not up to the job, well technology has moved on, in particular battery tech.
So after struggling with a sore back(arthritic spine, joys of playing sport when younger), dodgy knees(see previous statement re keeping fit and playing rugby lol) SWMBO ordered me a new toy

I've got the Gtec cordless strimmer because I find the petrol one a bit heavy and a complete **** to start! Battery only lasts half an hour ( 3 hour charge time ) but I can get most of the garden done in that time. I really like it. It can't manage anything to thick but then it's not designed for heavy work. Got another toy for that. I'll take a photo next time I have that out to play. Can't remember what it's called

Picked up a Worx 20V (18 really) strimmer and two 2AH batteries for £30 from Homebase in January - battery last about 20 mins - think its great - especially for the price - think they are normally £90

Mr Snoop has two strimmers, one from Lidl and a Stihl one. We were given both, which is how we come to have them. Too much for me. I've got an absolutely gorgeous Austrian scythe. Can support its weight with just one finger. Power runs out when I do, so it doesn't go for very long, and the results are a bit rough. But what the heck, it's good exercise. And it's quiet...

I have an Austrian scythe too - only problem is - I no longer have enough room to swing a scythe.
