Good morning. Frost on the roofs. I really, really need to get off my bum and do some housework, hopefully my son won’t ask me to sort his admin out again. He’s decided to do his own until his partner has finished her bookkeeping course, but he’s overworked and tired and keeps making a mess of it. I would also like to go and pick sloes, blackberries etc.

Booked a holiday in Cyprus for November. I’m going with 2 friends so that’ll be fun. They’re into bowling which I find about as interesting as golf, cricket and football. OH and I had a house out there so I will visit friends.

Morning it cooler here today at 3.5c and its only 5c out there just now.

I woke up in the night and it was so bright it looked like the outside lights had been left on.

Mornings! Yes a lovely harvest moon

Down to 3C in the greenhouse last night, only 6C now, the season turned overnight.
Dahlia tops were caught yesterday, so I'm surrounded by vases/teapots full of them. It'll be sad if that's the last of them - they were slow to start because of the heat this year and now maybe quick to finish

When/if it warms up a bit I'll carry on tidying up the allotment for winter...

Yes, we saw the beautiful harvest moon as well but thrn it got cloudy and I think this saved us from the frost.
It's slightly dull this morni g but 11 deg all the same.

Not bad. Back home in 45 minutes. Buses turned up almost immediately. It's only increased by 1mm but I have odd shaped aneurysm!

Afternoon all,missed the moon,look after yourself Danny,was cool here earlier,warmer now,i have had to admit defeat ref the plastering,just had a man come for a look,he noticed something i did not,so he doing it on thursday,must admit,it will take a preasure of me,i also have to show MR i to cannot do what i used to,look after yourselves you lot.

Just pit some new fire cement round the top of the wood/coal/peat burning stove and lit our first fire of the autumn, not really that cold, but you have to set the cement stuff!!

Started off lovely and sunny but cold and then the rain arrived so it's a bit damp.

Been waiting for jars to be delivered for just over two weeks. Think if they don't come tomorrow I'm off out to buy some and will just cancel. Company said they should have been with me a week past Saturday and it took them until Thursday to say they would send another lot, somehow I think I'm getting the run around! Desperate to get more chutney made but with no jars...

Work this morning, have been sorting out a few bits to donate, so will take them with me.
Best way of getting rid of clutter, park a hessian bag upstairs or down. Just pop bits in as you go along and your trash will soon be someone else’s treasure

Morning, I'm not sharing Flo's wind or cold today so that makes a change, its mild here with a GH low overnight of 10c so a big change.

Morning all. Chilly night but no frost. Bright and blue again after a cloudy day yesterday.

As for the moon, Mr Snoop kept asking me if we'd left lights on somewhere it was so bright.

What's the next move, Danny? Not the kind of thing you want hanging around...

Frustrating day ahead. Work and more arguments over our new batteries. Anybody interested in gel batteries not to buy, get in touch.

Another sunny, frosty morning.
Central heating due to be fixed this afternoon...brrr....thankgoodness for the woodfire!
Such a fantastic smell too!

More preserving today. Think I may need to rip up the beans and courgettes when the frost has melted and crack on with the preserving.
Also lots of green toms, unripe pears and a stonk of apples needing picking and wrapping for storage soon.

So..best crack on eh?
