Gorgeous day here again. Bit Chilly and bit breezy but hey, it's nearly October and it's dry . My show shallot bulbs had a spell outside making sure they were properly dried out. I've treated them with fungicide and J*e*y*e*s fluid in a solution of water to try to prevent the horrible grey mould that can mean a bulb is ruined and at over 3 a bulb it's worth the effort to try to save as many as possible.
My fav English football team - Man U - made a pudding of it again.
Now listening to commentary of my local team - Aberdeen - v Celtic. Nil nil at half time so that one is at least close.
The tomato crop is wearing to an end and that is sad. I always say it's the crop I miss most when it's done. Shop bought just doesn't compare.
I've stopped eating shop bought tommies, just don't enjoy them unless they are cooked.
Good Morning All Where is everyone? Room Service is long gone. It's looking like rain I'm sad to say. We found a dead rat on the drive so I hope that means they've all eaten the poison. Himself stupidly threw it on to the patch of grass opposite and later in the day it was back on our lawn being eaten by 6 or 7 magpies! Have a good Sunday
Been straining apples to make apple chilli....frustratingly slow!
One pressure cooker pan done and now another to strain
Heavy frost this morning for us.
Nipping out to a Vide Grenier this morning...might treat ourselves to a sausage baguette with chips seeing as I'm not dieting yet...
Should be lots of stalls-it's usually a good one , I just hope the frost hasn't put the stallholders off.
I need more cheap jam jars!
Just had my porridge and decided to try out the green tomato mincemeat recipe with it.
It's absolutely fantastic!
Deffo going to make more this week.
Uses up windfall apples and green tomatoes , so a win win, and it'utterly delish!
