    • Good evening all.
Had a lovely day with my two friends.
We met when we were five and still get together at least once a month.

Sat out in the sun in the afternoon.
Took down some of the sweet peas that had gone over.
Seems like no time since I was planting them out.
      How quick the seasons pass.
      Have a good evening all.

      • Better late than never...

Busy day today. Among other things, booked another flight back to see my mum in February. Managed to book the return flight for March. Cost me another 20 odd euros to put that right. Mind you, not as bad as Mr Snoop, who had a flight booked for him for Feb through a travel agents. And they got it wrong and booked March as well. Nobody noticed that the day was right but the month not. So he turned up at the airport to no flight. Better watch out for that in future. Shame the leap-month isn't one of the 30 or 31-day months.

Hope you've all had a good day today and have another one tomorrow.

                    • Glorious sunny day, cut all the grass and cut down some of the perennials that have finished (seed heads on new compost heap where the birds can get at them) and thoughts set to what else to grow. I found an old thread about Saffron corms and growing your own spice and that has got me interested.
I note now is the time to buy them, so what experiences does everyone have? I guess up here I will be container growing in the greenhouse and at nearly £5 a corm, I shalln't be buying many.

Burnie, it is many years now since my gall bladder was removed. I was one of the first to have the operation using keyhole surgery in Aberdeen. I was advised to go on as close to a fat free diet as possible while waiting for the operation and I have to say that helped immensely as before I did so, I found myself stricken with tremendous pain without warning and usually in the middle of the night. I used a Rosemary Conley cookbook which she devised from her own suffering.

I even stopped taking milk in my tea and coffee and now can't stomach either drink with milk. Hope you get seen to shortly. It was the greatest relief to me to be able to eat without fear of an attack and I hope you have similar relief after your op.
