  • Good ? now what would you call it, its starting to darken down now but its only 4-o-clock, what ever you would call it, I hope you are all well, and yes Snoop I think the same Jay will get a lot of pleasure watching the birds, if the feeder is empty for a short time then you refill it you can watch the birds coming back to it , usually a solitary blue t it comes in, has a quick nibble then off, fifteen to twenty minutes later, maw, paw and aw the weans, along with their friends turn up (mother, father and all the children) by the way I like watching the burds also

    • Just realised, oh dear, no deer tonight, possibly they are among the tall weed stems (willow herb) and they could be ten feet from you and you wouldn't see them in that

        • Been busy today until I was beaten by the rain.

A while ago I bought a new shed and managed to get it put up by myself balanced on bits of wood on a steeply sloped area of my garden. As it was a rush job when I moved home everything is just piled into it and I can hardly get in the door. Apart from that its started to subside and needs a decent foundation.

I intend moving to the top corner of the garden which is also heavily sloped two ways. It would have cost a fortune to make a pad for it to sit on so I have managed to get six plastic pallets and after setting in position and levelling, have today spent all day wheel barrowing soil from an area at he front garden which will eventually be used for off road parking. Killing two birds with one stone and saving on paying for a skip has been hopefully a good idea.
Now all I need is to find out when my son is available to give me a hand to empty the shed and the two of us to pick it up and put it on its new hard standing.
The shed is 10 foot X 6 foot so I am hoping we can both just pick it up and walk it to its new position!
The hardstanding is 10 foot X 8 foot to allow a couple of foot to be decked out at the front!

              • Not sure if I'm the first one up or the last one to bed. It's just gone half four and I've not really slept yet due to coughing and sinus pain. Blooming cold viruses. Have just been downstairs for a drink and some painkillers and will see if I can manage to doze for a couple of hours once they kick in. I hate trying to sleep propped up. We're going to be short-staffed again today and one of my colleagues had to go home poorly yesterday so me being off is not going to be an option. Bleagh.

Right, time to attempt sleep again.

                    • Know how you feel s-c I have been awake since 4·30 with coughing and sneezing, and feels like a tight band round my chest, have been dozing but decided to get up couldn't get back to sleep for women chattering , enjoy your day girls and I do hope you miss this bug that's doing the rounds, its terrible it make you a prisoner, what you get is-- while your sitting there just run the Hoover over the carpet or you will manage to make a wee cup of tea and just give those dishes a wash when I didn't do the hoovering right away it was, you know where its kept don't you, yes I do know, but how do you switch it on enjoy your day and pass on a smile

                      • Mornings!

I've had the tight sinus thing going on for a few day, but it doesn't seem to be the bug that settles on your chest, so as long as I use the 'stick-up-your-nose and inhale' thing I've been ok. Commiserations for those still suffering.

Grey and calm this morning, so an easy day planned, after too much digging yesterday. Meat delivery to wait in for anyway, so think some bagging up of seeds might make it onto the agenda
                        Have a good'un

                        • Sorry to hear everyone's poorly. Don't like the sound of that 'tight band', Rary. Not being funny. Take care. If it gets tighter, see the quack urgently.

More rain in the night! Another 27 litres/mm per square metre. Brilliant. Except the dirt tracks are like soup. Not so easy for getting out and about. Mr Snoop had to go into the village today, glad it was him going and not me.

Work, again. And then maybe getting some food cooked and in the freezer for Mr Snoop for while I'm away in a week or so. Spag bol, I think, to start with. Though I'd much rather be cooking something from the new recipe book I've just got off Amazon. There have been some recipe books bought following recommendations that I think are a total waste of money and paper. But this one, I can see myself eating every single recipe.

Right, on with the show. Have a great day, everyone. Eat or drink something delicious, especially if you're feeling under the weather. Well, it always makes me feel better!

                          • Outdoor graft yesterday has left me with an aching back so its indoor work today...tiling!

Its my lifelong ambition to finish tiling the kitchen. \I've been on with it on and off for six years so I intend making a concerted effort to get it finished. My extra long bolts for the sockets arrived yesterday so I have got no excuse for not taking the electrical sockets off, tiling around them and replacing with the long bolts as the tiles are 10mm thick.

I wonder how many tiles I can break today!
