First up, best dressed for me then?

Very dark and wet and dismal day for me here...just about to light the wood stove and hunker down for the day!
              Think it's a rice-pudding type day today.

I've put an alarm on for 5 mins before the Armistice Hour.
Don't want to miss paying my respects this year....must wear my poppy too.

              Right...stuff to do....
              See ya later peeps...

Rained all night here as well so it's mild this morning under the cloud, Mollycat is happy because the door is open for a while. Off in a mo to get the paper and that's probably as far as I'll go today...

                  Have a good'un whatever you're up to
Errr...nothing further to report, today looks to be exactly the same, plus showers, when I was hoping to get to the plot

                      • Good afternoon, raining here today, as its Remembrance Sunday when I first went out this morning it was dry but by the time it came for the organisation's marching to the war memorial it was raining, one of our grandsons is in the scouts and he was absolutely soaked, the past four years it has been cold but dry but sadly not today, but I suppose a small price to pay to say thank you
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                          • I have various squash that I have harvested which look to be the same variety. Some are yellow which I have eaten but some are green and of the same size and variety? Are they still edible?

                            • Evening All,
Snadge, they change colour as they get older - like hair (if it doesn't fall out first).

I've had a fun day visiting my Mum. Only popped in for a chat before the carers arrived - wasn't expecting the kitchen floor to be wet. Turned out the upright freezer door was slightly open because there was a small iceberg inside, stopping the top drawer from sliding in properly, which meant the door was slightly open. (Did I just say that?)

I emptied the freezer, all the food was still frozen fortunately and set about defrosting it using the only implement I could find - a plastic scoop - it was a long job.
Neither of the plastic washing up bowls would fit between the freezer shelves because there was too much ice so I couldn't put bowls of hot water inside. By the time I'd finished, I was soaking wet and my knuckles were raw from scraping along the iced up shelves.
The carers came - and went - and I was still grovelling around in the puddles.
Eventually, I went back into Mum and she said" Hello, have you been out shopping?"

Never mind, I eventually made it to Morris before they closed and bought 9 packs of Bounty and Mars bars for 30p each, reduced from £1.50. That cheered me up and since I don't believe in dieting. I think I'll have one now.

Hope you're having a super evening - do you realise its Monday tomorrow!!

                              • VC...I have been known to resort to the hair dryer when the ice gets too thick in the freezer.
I know the health and safety risk but it saves your hands and knuckles freezing.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
