  • Morning All.
Mild murky and raining. I was hoping to shred big pile of Japanese anemones and hellebore leaves. They were covering snowdrops and snowflakes. Bulbs seem early as crocuses up in lawn.
Loads of birds, even though light bad, including five magpies!

        • Mornings!
Wet but mild, so no gardening here either.
A take it easy day for me, I've got a new book if there's only the usual rubbish on TV.

          Have a good'un

I'm a believer Flo!....I always get a pressie from Santa!

Going to collect fresh holly and mistletoe today as the last lot is drying up.

I've decided that if I can't get the stuck bookmark out of the laminator (see rant thread) then I'll wrap up the laminator and put it under the tree and let OH try and get it out

One more try for me (no reverse/release button and no screws to open it up) ...fingers crossed eh?

            • ^Good luck.

Had an enormous lie-in this morning. Planned out my garden on paper last night, only to re-do it in my head while pondering the state of the ceiling. All change, and all much better. Wonder what it will eventually turn out like. Only drawback with the current plan is I'm moving to a three-year rotation in the fields, but could be worse. Lots of people here only do two-year rotation. If we get onion white rot though or club root, I'm scuppered. Our main crops are onions and brassicas.

Anyway, that was good fun. Let's hope the rest of the day goes the same way.

              Have a good one, everyone.

                • Good morning all.
It rained all night and it's still raining now.
Off to mass shortly and then a last few gifts to wrap.
                  Nothing else planned.
                  Have a good day all,

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • Morning everyone, wet and mild here too
A very chilled out day for me and my bored hubby is cleaning our house to within an inch of its life
I’m in charge of laundry, beverages and lunch. Good innit?
Hope everyone is having a good day

Snoop I have came across a crop of good cabbages with club root, and even though it was in the ground the elderly lady who had the garden used it to grow brassicas every second or third year, she maintains that by adding minerals to the soil the cabbage will grow even with club root, and she did have good looking cabbage
And I get really huffed when my OH comes away with that ceiling needs painted

                        • On my last plot, with club root, I just added a handful of lime to the planting hole, as an 'old boy' advised me. That made enough of a difference to get them big enough

Sorry no I don't know, and it was twenty odd years ago, and she would have been about the age VC is now all those years ago, so little chance of asking her now

                            • Good morning, at my sons to watch the boy's, and when driving up it showed -4c in the car so it could be a dry cold day, well for a wee while anyway it would be nice to get a day without rain one or two things to pick up today but fortunately its all stuff that has been ordered and paid for, so no anxiety about it still being available when I reach the counter Enjoy your day and try passing on a smile
