Morning, I would post an update picture(taken by my wife VC), but don't want to put people off their breakfast, still sore but I am trying a different type of medicine today, Fathers Day treat booked months ago. We go by train(hopefully a steam one ) then on an old vintage bus to the local distillery at Fettercairn for a tour and some whisky tasting!!(I might not be back for a while, carry on all)

^Hope you have a great day, Burnie.
All good here. Bright and dry but temperatures due to rise rapidly to more temps for the time of year. 32 ºC by Friday. Watering will start to take up more time now.
Jobs today: lop some holly oak that's smothering a lovely oak tree behind the house (I'll be doing this in stints), start a few brassicas off (not owning up that they're sprouts...) and sow some more sweetcorn and cucs. With any luck, water up from the well too this weekend, plus earthing up tatties.
Plus, more paid work. Going back to see my Mum in a couple of weeks or so, so need to get it out of the way.
Have a good one everyone. Especially Burnie.

I'm not too far from sunny Sheff (I'm a Sheffielder, born and raised, but living away right now) and we've just had a terrific downpour here too, despite Alexa assuring me that no rain was expected today. All that watering I did this morning! Humph.
Anyway, I also managed to mow the lawn and cut the privet back a bit. Thankfully, I remembered I wanted to use the grass cuttings to hill up my potatoes a bit more so managed to swoosh them to one side before doing the hedge. I haven't done the best job on the hedge as I just have a mini battery powered trimmer rather than a full-blown hedge trimmer. The little trimmer is great for shorter jobs, but really makes my hands hurt when used for a bit longer, especially as my joints are flaring a bit right now.
Otherwise, I have only fed my worms, done some housework and then collapsed into an afternoon nap. First day of my two weeks off work and I have been visited by all the joys of womanhood. So much for the 46 things on my to-do list for todayLast edited by self-contained; 16-06-2018, 06:28 PM.

Good evening, its nicer now than it has been all day, the temp. today never went above 14 and when it was raining, which it did several times, it dropped to 12, took OH to a factory shop via a GC where I let her buy me a scone, I was getting the coffees, which as being a member of their club I just happened to get free at the FS I picked a pair of trousers as my clothes are beginning to look a bit big on me, fortunately shirts etc. all look ok as I have always needed a bit of breadth across the shoulders, or this looking weight would cost me a fortune, and yes Nicos the weight is still going down now I am for out to the garden for a time. Enjoy your eveningit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
