Evening all. Been to allotment and tided up a bit more. Then off to see my dad and then took the kids to see their dad.
Kids have already got their school stuff sorted and bags are packed.
Just hoping the plumber turns up tomorrow.

Good evening, no gardening done today, took some tomato and courgette plants with me when I went to church this morning, and gave them away, I don't like having to bin good plants and by giving them away it frees up some space in the greenhouse, after church I took my daughter and her family to a music festival though my oldest GS didn't want to go to it so we stayed in with him, but as it was raining that wasn't a hardship. I am now off to read a book or something as the TV has nothing on that I want to watch, I am not into watching sports I prefered taking part than spectating, ah well I hope there are a lot of happy people tomorrow night. So pass on a smile Goodnight

Morning People, we have rain overnight and the lawn is thankful and looking green again. looks like the forecast is low temperatures overcast and showers here today. Just as well because if it was sunny I would want to get to the allotment.



When my daughters saw this little chap they thought if Dad was a chocolate Teddy this would be him! I really can't imagine why?

Due to my complaint that the wife made me get rid of my timber garden table that I did all the gardening stuff on, they bought me a fold out picnic table for fathers day to do my potting up on.

Anyway, back on the work wagon today. Bright blue out there, looks like it could be a hot one today, so probably just as well to stay indoors. Didn't get very much of anything done this weekend apart from sleeping. Mr Snoop has a saying: "no time spent sleeping is ever wasted". Not sure if that's true, but I've got a lot of missed sleep over these last few weeks to catch up on.

Looks like it's a 'cutting back, digging up and completely redoing one border' day today...and for the next few from the looks of things.

We had a rather overgrown border in one of the gite gardens and OH decided to cut it back drastically yesterday . (The main path to the back garden)

. It now looks like a tank has been through it rather than a pretty,lush green section.
Very much a wrong time of year to have done that, it's going to take one heck of a lot of work to get it looking pretty again in a matter of days before the next lot of guests arrive.
Not a minor rant....just a feeling of being overwhelmed at having to tackle such a huuuge job when we're hardly keeping my head above water with other 'stuff' ...mostly because of the limitation due to my back which is still playing up if I over do things.
Thank goodness I get the excuse to sit down and mod!!!!

Apart from that....all good here and loving being able to wander out and pick strawberries and raspberries , radish and lettuce on a daily basis. Waited many months to get to this stage!!!

Have a good day peeps...I had planned on a quick swim later but unless it starts raining it looks like I'll be chained to the garden path!!!!

Morning all, rather chilly this morning looks like rain is on it’s way too! Went to collect some strawberries last night in the garden and what do I find? The slugs got to them first, what makes me mad is they have a chunk out of each ripe berry, why not just the one and leave me some, did your mothers not teach you to share?!!Grr.
Put the recycling bin out and to get some bags for recycling food you tie a bag on the handle of the bin. Great idea unless of course the guys choose to ignore it. Food now has to go in normal bin!! What’s the point?!!
This post should really be on the rant thread, sorry!

Bit late but it is still morning Drizzly and cool here, so inside jobs started.
Hoping it will brighten up for some garden stuff later though - feeling hemmed in already!

Evening all, been a lovely sunny day here, bit of wind but still pleasant
Work this afternoon was very busy, this nice weather makes people come out to shop.
Also, people are clearing out ‘stuff’ now the weather is warmer.
Spuds are doing really well, 12 builders buckets this year
Plenty of tomatoes getting bigger by the day, salad stuff on tap
Runner beans are just - running up their strings.

Good evening, it has been a bit dull and cool today, but dry, so did some work n the garden by spreading some seaweed between the potatoes, and some through the cabbages, then had to go and collect the boy's from school, then take the youngest to football practice, once back home I was out in the greenhouse for a time, and finished up planting an other couple of tomato plants, one in compost with about 1lt. of worm compost mixed through it and one with compost, homemade compost and seaweed mixed ( I have to use it up some way) oh and potted on 180 begonias, (but I am not for letting VC know about those) right off to have a read of something, so I will wish you all a goodnight
