Morning Flo et al, the sun is trying here and its much warmer today than it was yesterday. I need a swift visit to the allotment this morning once SWMBO is awake to water the plot and put in some butternut squash, plus pick up my little Triffids blood results as we have an evening appointment with the consultant tonight.

Two tomato plants hit the deck yesterday, no damage, but a bit of pruning was done.
Potato haulms have picked up nicely as well
Food shopping shortly, running out of provisions

Mix of sun and cloud but pleasant. We had a brief shower around 6am but not enough to even make the paths wet

So looks like I will be on watering duties today

Today I shall mostely be grubbing around again in the border....it's actually a decorative 'gravel' driveway with narrow flower borders on both sides which , because it's looked pretty, I allowed to encroach into the fine pebble path by about 3feet on either side.
They looked stunning in April and May with hundreds of oxeye daisies, some self seeded purple thistle looking flowers, self seeded lupins, violets and loads of other flowers....all in the driveway.
One side is the wooden garage wall, but the other side is a field....and yup, you guessed it...nettles and brambles have worked their way in as far as the garage and gone crazy in this warm, wet weather.
Pulling out those weeds has disturbed absolutely everything...including the gravel

Ho hum....at least we don't have bindweed there too!

Hands up....who hates nettles and brambles in established flower borders

Mornings, good luck with THAT Nicos, sounds like hard work to me.

Drizzly this morning, I hope it goes away by lunchtime just as it did yesterday. Meanwhile I'll do a bit of ironing and catch up with some paperwork.

Morning, it's cold this morning. I'm sorely tempted to put the heating on for a bit. Someone please remind the weather it's June, it's supposed to be summer!
Domestics today, including ironing. My mother in law tells me I should iron as I go along. You know what it's like you decide to leave it one day and the next it's like a mountain.
Anyhoo, hope you have a great day. Off to check my plants to see if there is anything to harvest yet.

Just supervised the non gardener in cutting the lawns as I'm banned from doing them, she's off to our daughters for the rest of the day and apparently I couldn't be trusted to be left on my own lol(there was even a plan to hide my shed keys, but they weren't sure if I had spares, which I do lol)

Yippee...managed 2hrs of swimming...most of it outdoors.
I was the only one outside and somehow I ended up with 3 lifeguards!
Nah...nothing to do with my swimming ability, but the fact that the sun was shining!!!

oooops...., still, I feel good to have done that
