Lovely start to the day here too.
Lovely clear, bright sky last night...we could see Venus, Saturn and Mars to the south and west as well as the moon. Stunning!

More work on the garden today...might nip for a quick outdoor swim later if I get enough done.

Flo, we have 2huuuge cherry trees, a wild one and a sweet black one -the birds are frenzied in both. Glad we have the wild one to distract them a tad otherwise there'd be none left for us!
Looks like a bumper crop for a change!

Morning it looks like we're all sharing the same nice weather. Found my first raspberry of the season and it tasted the best ever

Cold overnight but warming up quickly now the wind has dropped. Overnight lot of washing already on the line.
Boy were/are those bird noisy this morning - loads of sparrers being hooligans, driving the cat mad as usual LOL
After a bad night with sciatica it's a pottering, only do what I fancy doing, kind of day. Some sitting in the sun is inevitable though

Afternoon all,so hot again,how on earth we gona cope in a Heat wave i do not know,unless work later and earlier in the day,then snooze midday on,i am finding the odd loganberry,chucks love them,getting some plants in the home patch,whilst they still have a will to live,machined net together for the home brasica cage,i just gota fasten it down and form a doorway,then the next thing is,how to brake up rock hard soil,so i can plant out,look after yourselvesand be good

I now officially hate/loathe brambles , nettles and bl@ddy horse flies

So...no swimming for me today after all..but tomorrow ...yey!!!D

Anyone got a remedy for nettle stinging hands???...docks are absolutely a waste of time.....

Just opened a lovely bottle of rose and sitting in the sun isn't nature stunningly beautiful???

...makes it all so worthwhile!

Washing up liquid and sugar mixed into a paste works on stings and bites too. Didn't really like the thought after running a road-test but it did work.

Don't know where the day has gone, but gone it has.
You'll never guess what they're selling in H0mebase - and since you won't guess I'll tell you!
They're selling pallets, yes, new, kiln dried, wooden pallets for you to turn into your own bespoke garden furniture (their words, not mine). They had 2 pallets stacked on top of each other (as a seat) with a cushion on it and an upright one at the back. This wonderfully inspiring item of garden furniture can be yours, if you're mug enough to pay £22 for a single pallet!

Morning all. Went to bed early last night so up and about now. Busy day with various jobs ahead and sorting kids stuff out.
Kettle is on and I do have a selection of tea and coffees both normal and decaf if anyone fancies a quick cuppa

Absolutely stunning morning out there...very still, sunny,not a cloud in the sky, chooks gently chattering away between themselves....I can now see the clusters of red cherries between leaves in the tree...dew shining on the grass...blackbird singing it's little heart out...bliss .

More weeding for me today -I decided to take a detour yesterday and clean up the large strawberry bed aswell.
The toothpaste actually helped!....sort of reduced the sharp stings to a tingle...thankyou LD
Will try the soap and sugar next time
