Ah burnie, I used to do that but learned not to mix the grape with the grain, but if my advice is too late, drink plenty of Adam's aleit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

After sitting in the sun for a time I decided to put a post to hold hanging baskets into the ground, and fortunately I had an old plastic coated lamp post I could use, but as the post was gray I decided to paint it green and now realise I have made a mistake, I also have a large stone coloured clay pot, 28ins. diam. which I also painted, and as it is starting to get a bit colder I was out to cover some baskets with fleece and checking the paint work there isn't a run or bare patch anywhere, I will need to get out early tomorrow and spread some paint about and create some runs or it will be "that's a good paint hob, so you could do some painting that I want done in the house" I have spent years maintaining I can't paint, and I the no its a bit late in life to be caught outit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Morning people, yes it sunny and light and I have been up for half an hour put the washing in and had breakfast and now drinking a coffee and looking to see what's been going on until 6 then I can hang out the washing put the second load on wash and bugger off down the allotment for a couple of hours before SWMBO gets up. The fact that my little Triffid can now get herself up and out of bed has given me back some freedom and I'm not restricted to the house like I have been for the last 18 months.
Have a good one people whatever you are doing or having done too you, I will be thinking of you Burnie

Good news about yr Mrs though!
Burnie - will be thinking of you. how long do you have to stay in hospital?.. hope it goes really well for you.
More work on that border again today -I actually didn't do anything in the garden yesterday(apart from est in it)
But....I did get a very pretty pale blue glass bowl shaped like a flower yesterday which I'm going to make into a bee and butterfly drinking point.
I saw piccies a while back of a shallow dish filled with marbles then filled with water and that jumped to mind when I saw it.
1€...already have the marbles somewhere.
Bit different eh?
Time to crack on!

Oh...forgot to say...we found a 3week old, newly fledged starling in the garden yesterday.Couldn't fly, so we put Hibou indoors and left it for a couple of hours. (Fortunately she'd not seem it)
No parents around and not eating and still on the ground( in the shade)
Put it in a bush and left it for another hour and found it back on the ground under the bush again a while later.
So...gave it some water -wouldn't eat anything- and left it another hour but it was still without parents but had started panting...so we popped it in a box in the barn. Poor thing died within the hour.
Aww....sad, but worth trying to rescue.
Such a pretty little thing. Took a while to ID it though....pale brown, dark legs, slightly speckled chest, cream under chin and a long spiked beak. Looked a bit like a think female blackbird at first but the beak was wrong.
