Don't know whether to get a plot visit out of the way now, or to hope it will be cooler later. It's scorchio and I'm dripping already - and that's unusual for me

Evening all, well, that was another scorcher eh?
Did a bit of urgent house chores early this morning, so much more energy when the sun is still low.
Managed to get shopping and dinner done today as well,
I really do need to move myself
Some lovely people have put England flags on the trees down our (long) Avenue and even carried on down the next road. We have lots of trees round here
It looks so patriotic and makes me beam with pride.

Couldn't sleep either Flo!
Got up over an hour ago and made 8 pots of strawberry and elderflower jam before it got even hotter!

We managed to pick loads of cherries yesterday.
Washed, sorted (sadly a lot have started to go off before turning black)
And frozen in 500g bags.

20 kg!

Still more to do but they will be for bottling and sterilising tomorrow otherwise I'll have no room in the freezer for my other produce!

Good idea about the rake lottie...ta!

Morning Guys a quick breakfast and then off for a water and a weed pull at the allotment, this little and often morning visits is making a real difference and I'm going to exploit it for as long as the light mornings and Mrs C's health lets me.

Morning everyone. Been away for the weekend at my sisters at her birthday bash BBQ weekend. Very warm so everyone kept in the shade apart from the kids. Kept putting Will in the shade and in front of an air con unit. Was also running drinks constantly to them. Think they had a great time.
My sister gave me about thirty strawberry plants she didn't want anymore . Have given a load to my mom so will be potting them up this morning I think.
Weather app says we might have some rain tonight, Hope so.

Morning there's a bit of a breeze today so hopefully that will make it feel cooler. NVG we were down to have rain this evening but its now been changed to overcast I feel cheated

Much cooler this morning, lovely..
Off in a bit to try to weed a small empty bed, I suspect I'll need to water it a lot first, as it's like concrete.
Also gotta make holes in some weed fabric for my swedes. Anything more will be a bonus!

Dull morning but very humid.
We too have a chance of some rain, here's hoping.l
Not much to do in the garden other than weed and deadhead.
The sweet peas are a riot of colour but are going over too quickly with the hot weather, hence the weeding.
Won't be doing much else today as our granddaughter is coming for a visit and we will probably take her out for lunch,
