Really sorry to hear about Hollie, JanieB. We have an elderly cat whose teeth have worn down and she gets special privileges as far as food is concerned. Have to give the other cats a little bit of what she has, but the dogs get none and look at me with the most hangdog expressions.

Back home from shopping. A relief to be back in the cool. Had a nice lunch out, though.

The weather forecast still says cloudy for this evening, so might not have any luck with the eclipse. Hope you all have a great view.

Good afternoon all,all i am doing is leaking out the skin,sorry about hollie dog,Your not on your own Nicos,first week i kept it up,this week it's staying put,will only do what,as and when,fairy returnes next friday,and she loves the job,had a short sharp rain again lastnight,nothing gone in the ground,it will take quite a down pour to do that.

Afternoon everyone. Been to allotment and picked a load of blackberries for my mom. She thinks I have a sloe tree in my plot and not a damson as first thought. Was my moms taxi service again for an hour or so again.
Still waiting for the rain they forecast to arrive.
My seed parcel has arrived. Think I am sorted for next year Unless I find so seeds at a silly price again.
Going to see Dippy the Dinosaur in Birmingham tomorrow. The kids are very excited.

Good evening, had told OH that I had some tomatoes ready for eating so went out to the greenhouse to pick them when we had, what you might call a cloud burst, torrential rain, and of course nothing to protect me if I went back to the house, so that was me trapped, and with nothing to eat so it finished up OH got two small to tomatoes, when she expected more, but what could I do I had to eat something and I was trapped there for at least five minutes, ripe tomatoes just off the Vine are more addictive to me than chocolate

Morning Crew - Up early but no visit to the allotment as its raining - Yes rain, wet stuff and the wings of the windmill are going around and there is a nice cool breeze out there this morning. Shame we are supposed to be having a garden party as my Eldest Daughter for the Youngest Daughters birthday today, but hopefully things will dry and brighten up this afternoon. better go and check the weather forecasts I guess

Difficult to know what to wear when it's warm...anything waterproof gets too clammy!

Just noticed we have a pile of apples on the floor after last nights heavy rain -I wonder if they might ripen up or do you think it's too early?( no doubt the bruising will see them off before they get a chance?)

Domestics for me today. Glad it's cooled down a lot though -we have a lovely fresh breeze going on out there at the moment!

Morning all,we had some rain,got about 1 in in the barrel,ground looks wet,but only on the top,the leaves of plants should direct the drips down to the roots in run off,was cooler,but not now,it's warm again.

It's been raining on and off all night.
Not sure what's on the cards for today.
Pitch and putt competition may or may not be cancelled.
Otherwise domestics and the dreaded ironing to catch up on.

Afternoon all, well nearly tea time all. Have been to Birmingham to see Dippy the Dinosaur. Kids loved it gift show was very expensive though. £8.99 for a pencil case and £6.00 for a silver type badge.
Then we went to another part of the museum to see the art work and discovered the Staffordshire Hoard was there. It was a stunning collection and the information provided was interesting that they had dotted about. Dinner at the café was expensive but very nice.
Getting back was interesting as our trains were cancelled so we had to catch a bus to another station and then get a mini bus back to town. Kids thought it was a great adventure.
Then another bonus for today is that its raining. Meant to rain here all day tomorrow so might be able to dig at the allotment on Monday
