Looks a bit cloudy outside so far today but is meant to be warming up again today. Off out and about with the kids so will need to pack the sun cream for them.

Morning, all that rain we had earlier this weeks is starting to make the grass look green again don't think we've got any more rain due in the next week though.

LD, do you maybe need to go back to the hospital? Not good if you keep coming over ill and with headaches. Concussion, maybe? You take care.

Getting hotter and hotter here. Opened everything up last night, as per, but bedroom 4 ºC hotter today than yesterday morning. Temps due to start dipping into the mid 30s Tuesday next week. Wet flannels and lots of drinks meanwhile.

Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out at any time of day here at the moment, but Mr Snoop needs more pills. Not looking forward to sitting on the car seat...

Morning all,not slept to good either,hot and achee,fairy only here for 2 hours,at least the ironing will be done hehehe,that sun is comming up,so pleased the garden got rain water,it has saved a lot,Bgood2yrselvs

Spent most of the morning with the camera looking round the Buddleias as last night, just as it was getting dark and tipping down with rain we had an eruption of Hummingbird Hawk Moths, we had one individual about 10 years ago, but not seen one since. No show so far, but the camera is armed and ready if one does show.

Snoop-what sort of temperatures have you got forecast? Are you in one of the regions expected to be 'high risk'.

Fortunately not. I can't imagine what it's like there. We're mid-40s here at the moment. And that's plenty hot enough for me. I'm out doing jobs till 8.30 am, hibernating indoors thereafter if at all possible. Drinking plenty, not eating in the middle of the day (I lost a kilo last week, so there's a silver lining) and sleeping in the afternoon if I can.

I've been to Badajoz, one of the places where the hottest temperatures are forecast. It's in a poor part of Spain and there's a fair amount of very roughly built housing. Goodness only knows how the elderly and children there will cope.

It wàs 34C in the shade by our back patio at 1pm with no breeze.
Forgot to check later on in the afternoon.
Blissful 19C as we speak.

Fortunately our guests are leaving at 8am tomorrow so at least we can get the cleaning done before the real heat of the day kicks in

Going to sleep with the fan on tonight!

Slept fitfully last night, even with the fan on.
Harvested just one a Pink Fir and ate it yesterday. Wasn’t a bad size, but will leave them a bit longer
Tomato glut is upon us, happy days
Booked a last minute ish holiday yesterday

Morning Crew, just back from an hour and a half on the allotment another 105 beetroot seed sown in a vacant bed I know the pack says so until July but we are only just into August plus its bloody warm so I'm hoping for a swift germination and more beetroots to pickle in October.



After six years I finally unpacked and set up the camping stove in the old shed on the new plot, now to find the cups and buy some provisions so that I can make coffee on the plot and not have to muck around with the flask anymore.

Morning all. Been to allotment and picked half a tub of blackberries. Started to get very warm so we have come back home. Going over to my mom and dads in a bit. Kids have decided they'd like a sleep over and watch my dads new DVD of Peter Rabbit.
