    • Mornings, I'm on my 2nd cuppa

20C but lights on indoors cos it's overcast and not a breath of breeze. Weird, 'calm before the storm' type of weather. Just looked and MetO agrees, says rain before lunchtime - oh well!

Looks like it's more painting for me then

      Have a good'un

No Sun shine here just dull and grey.
Going to the botanic gardens today
They Have the Totally Terrific Tomato Festival running and I want to see the display.
Taking my granddaughter along as well.
        Have a good day all.

And your hands begin to harden.

          • Dropping in late today. Had to take my car round to the mechanic's today. Not used him before. Very nice man! Very good at showing us all the problems, not just making it up. Looks like it might only cost an arm, as opposed to an arm and a leg. Feeling quite positive about it, unusually.

Other than that, not much other news. Work is starting to come in again. So that's the holidays over.

If anybody wants sun, I've got more than enough to spare. But I'd rather swap it for rain than just give it away. Just saying...

            Have a great day, everyone.

I didn't know about the National Botanic Gardens here in Dublin - thanks for the info.
I'll need to try and get to the Tomato Festival before it ends.

                • Afternoon all, one of these headache days. Warm but humid.
Not much done today, cleaned the bathroom and tidied up the kitchen and that’s it as my shoulder seems to be getting worse.
Anyhoo not worth moaning about, some people have to live with much worse.
Good to see a couple of old faces back on the Vine too.

                  Have a great day everyone.

Hi Kevin. Well worth going. It's on for the whole week. 241 varieties on show today. Free admission. Just makes yo want to grow more and more tomatoes.
Plenty of pics on Facebook if you want to have a look.

                      • Good evening all.
Well the weather picked up and we had a lovely sunny day.
Went to the botanic gardens to the tomato festival.
So many varieties, some I never even heard of.
Very well displayed. Made me want to try more varieties.

                          • Mornin Flon'all
                            Midweek already!
Managed to prepare and freeze 5kg of nectarines and apricots yesterday!
Really looking forward to having those in the winter in crumbles....mmm....(what diet I hear you say)

I intend to do another mammouth preserving jar session tomorrow with a mixture of various beans and courgettes from the garden -perhaps make them into a selection of curries for instant meals after a hard day in the garden/potager in the winter.(no takeaways within 20 miles!)

Sounds like you had a wonderful day bramble! Is it an annual event?

Right...best get me skates on -busy day ahead.
                            See ya later folks

                            • ^Sounds like a plan on the preserving. Every now and then, I get a hankering for a takeaway spit-roast chicken like we used to get in Barcelona. No chance whatsoever here unless you book one on market day for four hours time. Not quite the spontaneity of a takeaway. No idea where a takeaway place might even be round here. I think it could even be an unheard-of concept. The villages are so small and so far apart, probably no market, except for us!

Mr Snoop off out shopping today. Me, I'm holding the fort and clacking away on the computer. I lost a fair bit more weight while he was away, but the last time we went shopping together, he put biscuits, crisps and peanuts in the trolley. Now 1/2 kg back on. Not his fault though: he might put things in the trolley but it's me that puts them in my mouth! Doubtless he'll buy even more biscuits and the likes now he won't have me glaring at him as he peruses the aisles.

Anyway, have a great day everyone.

                              • Good morning all.
We have a shower start to the day but it's still warm.
Not sure what I will be doing today but son, his wife and new grandson coming for dinner tonight.
Probably some grocery shopping and A visit to the library.

                                're the tomato festival.
Nicos, it is an annual event but this is the first time it's been held in the national botanic gardens.
Used to be held in Wicklow but being in Dublin gives more people easier access to it.

And when your back stops aching,
