Good morning all.
The sun is shining but it's quite breezy.
Off to a funeral mass soon, a 44 year old dead from a heart attack.
Then to visit my father's grave, his birthdsy remembrance today.
Out with friends this evening for a bite to eat and then on to a tribute concert for a very popular Irish singer and entertainer who passed away a few years ago but will never be forgotten.
Likes like a full day for me.
Have a good day all.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

And me too!:|D
Well...urmmm....guess who has done absolutely no preserving/ crafting so far today?
A friend loves our kitchen and has asked me to help her redesign hers....tis a very strangely shaped room so exceptionally complicated , and she needs to do it on a budget which complicates matters.
So ...having checked on a friend's empty house we called in on her , went through quite a few alternative designs trying to incorporate/hide certain features....then she asked if we would like a coffee and a bite to eat , then promptly produced a 5 course meal she'd prepared for us
How sweet is that?
I thought she just meant a coffee and a piece of cake!
Absolutely relish!
So...guess who will be going to IKEa with her once the craft fair is over???..yipppeee! ( can't have too many church candles can one what with winter-a-coming!)"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Evening all,
been a day of all seasons here today. It's a real shame for the local flower exhibitors as the biggest show in the area starts tomorrow and many blooms will have been damaged.
I was cutting grass on a sit and ride mower in the forenoon but some really squally showers put a stop to that.
At home in the afternoon and between showers, I took a gatepost which had been mounted on the wall of the house at a peculiar angle (and has annoyed me since we moved in a couple of years ago) off. I replaced the post with one fixed in the ground with postcrete. I then discovered that the other gatepost which also supported the end of a fence was also not vertical but I got round that by using some fairly thick shims behind the top couple of hinges. A quick slap of wood preservative on the new post and job done. The gate previously rattled when it was windy but I've been able to eliminate that problem as well.
Now watching "The Repair Shop" on Iplayer. Love that programmeLast edited by Aberdeenplotter; 24-08-2018, 08:39 PM.

Sounds like a satisfying day AP
Well done!
I did manage to do some crafting this evening, so I don't feel quite so guilty!
However...I've been keeping my eye on OH's hand.
He was stung by a hornet last night...poor thing (hornet)was snoozing in a fold of fabric and OH moved it unaware the hornet was slumbering inside.
Natural reaction I suppose but he felt like he'd been hit by a cricket bat on his hand (which.....no giggles please) looks more like a blown up pink latex glove!!!!!
Poor lad is stuffed full of antihistamines and the swelling has finally stopped at his wrist.
I was almost expecting a trip to hospital would be in order.
The lengths people will go to to try and get out of washing up never ceases to astound me!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Mornin n'alln'all
Guess who insisted on the bedroom window(aka cat flap) to be open all night?....bouncing around the bedroom until we opened it and then just SAT there staring out
Bit too chilly for her too!
No doubt she'll be starting to thicken up her coat ready for winter soon at this rate.
Me?...well, I suppose I might stop mowing me legs soon too!!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend? Any one up to anything spesh?"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
