Thought I'd take advantage of a drier day and cleared an old bed of perennials out ready for new strawberry plants. Then cleared old strawb bed which will have tatties growing in it next year, got half a dozen decent new Cambridge favorite's out of there, potted up ready for planting out later.

Thanks for the info about scorpions. But I reckon the most amazing thing I've learned about them today is here (do not click if you don't like insects...):

Get a portable black light and use it with the lights off to see if the scorpions are round the door - they glow under UV.

Good morning all.
Wet and grey this morning.
Off out shortly for a champagne breakfast with the family.
We are celebrating my daughter and son in laws silver wedding anniversary.
Have a good day all especially those who have the sunshine.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Well, a relatively productive day. Some paid work done and vegetarian chickpea and carrot burgers made (BBC recipe, they feel a bit soft despite the extra breadcrumbs I added, so I hope they're OK). About to do the washing-up from the burgers and get a bean filling for tortillas underway. Then maybe cut some plums up for freezing for winter crumbles.
Mr Snoop is out at the mo, but he's done loads of tidying, as we've got two lots of friends coming tomorrow. That's the theory. Clearly they haven't seen the weather forecasts yet. We're due rain and supposedly quite a bit of it! Great for the trees but not good for visitors and especially not for visiting kids.
Have a nice evening, everyone.
