Just back from a few hours on the allotment, lots of mowing *sigh* If only I could grow veg as well as I can grow grass

Afternoon, welcome back NS, hope you had a great holiday.
Showery day here today but not too cold. Starting walking to try to get a bit fitter. Day 4 today, still feeling a bit tired afterwards but hopefully that will soon change.
Have to say the steroid injection seems to have begun to work. This is the first day for most of the year I haven't had permanent pain. So pleased.

Morning Flo et al - Dry here at the moment, we have an allotment meeting with idverde and the council this afternoon should be interesting as there are only 3 less vacant plots in the last six months and the number on the waiting list has increased from 176 to 184 and that's before October when the rents are due and the next wave of leavers don't pay and it takes 3 months for idverde to realise there is another plot free and they still have not contacted people that have been on the waiting list for a long time.

Morning all, didn’t realise you had the dreaded shingles Nicos. You poor thing. You didn’t get it from me, honest.
Went back to work yesterday, which stopped me from falling asleep. Then went over to see our Daughter and drop off holiday presents
So, went to bed at 10 and got up at 7 a.m. Can I possibly have beaten the jet lag? We will see
Lots of gardening done yesterday as well, plants have been growing still and their mates, the weeds

Morning and thank you VC, for some reason I can’t edit or add photos to my posts using my iPhone.
Well that was a very wet night, dry now though. Not a lot planned for today so will see how it goes!
Remembering 9/11 today and also thinking of the folks in North and South Carolina as Hurricane Florence bears down in them. Expected to be category 5 by the time arrives!!My son lived and worked in North Carolina for a year so knows a few people there. Must be awful just waiting for it to hit!! We don’t realise how lucky we are in this country to have such temperate weather.

Dull, grey and breezy but it's dry.
Think I might embark on a jam making session today.
Lots of fruit in the freezer and need to turn it into something edible.

Tea and toast done, so off to plot for more mowing (It's not my fault it's taking soo long, the batteries run out go before I do. Honest )
Weather can't make up it's mind between cloud and sun and it's very windy - but hope to get a bit more done.

Cad - our meeting is on Thursday, see what the council says about the plots that are shoulder high with weeds, the same plots that we reported to them last year!

Morning we've had lots of overnight rain so that's topped up my butts, gardens still looking good the nasturtiums are finally in flower they're really late this year not sure why apart from blaming the weather.

It's persisting it down, so no mowing today lol maybe a greenhouse potter if it eases off a bit later.
Looks like I'll actually have to do some house work (oh no!)
