afternoon all. Bit chilly out but a gentle breeze which is good because I abandoned a line of washing to the rain yesterday. I'm taking it in no later than 2.00pm as we have rain forecast for 3.00pm. I'm just being careful. Made a pot of tomato soup which we had for lunch. Adjusted the online recipe to remove the red wine vinegar, brown sugar and creme fraich. No high falutin cooking here. As far as I could see that lot would all just have cancelled each other out. Was the soup tasty. You betcha and there's enough left for tomorrows lunch too .
Our freezer is full to the gunnels otherwise we'd have been roasting and freezing the toms.
I should have been in to the plot this morning but I've damaged a muscle in my upper arm. A few days rest and hopefully that should sort itself.

Nabbed a bit of a bargain at Morrisons methinks. Large potted Delphinium (Cherry Blossom) reduced from £5.00 to 25p! I'll get that planted at the back of the border and look forward to cherry blossom blooms next year.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Morning all. Back from visiting my mum. A short visit but the most standoffish of the cats won't leave me alone. Hope it's not a sign he's not feeling too good.
Temperatures here have plummeted. Still no rain, so the cold could mean it's going to be a dry autumn.
Will catch up with news over the next day or so. Meanwhile, hope everyone's doing well and having a jolly time.

Good morning all.
A dull, drizzly, breezy morning.
Domestics today, all the jobs I have been saving for a rainy day,
Son, daughter in law and new grandson coming for dinner this evening.
Busy day ahead.
Have a good one.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Good morning all. It was cold last night. I couldn’t get to sleep for ages ‘cos my feet were frozen. I had to move my car this morning as I couldn’t park it anywhere that is legal during the day, last night. This should’ve taken about 5 mins but I met 2 neighbours, one walking her dog and the other with his front door open. Stopped for a chat with both. The one with the door open is moving house. There’s been no for sale sign, but it has been sold. I’m slightly miffed that he hadn’t told me he was moving miles away. I looked after him when he was a teenager and his mum did a bunk for a few months.
My new sewing machine has arrived. I haven’t opened the box yet. Don’t know what to do with the old one.
Seeing the comments on other threads about beetroot reminds me that I need to watch out when I eat out. My children have accused me of being embarrassing when I send salads back because someone has plonked slabs of beetroot on it. I’ve had the experience of chefs removing said vegetable and turning the lettuce over. I then have to ask them to give me a salad that hasn’t had beetroot anywhere near it. I have an intolerance to it and it makes me very ill. I actually love it but it doesn’t feel the same.
Now to open the box!!!"I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)
"It is neccessary to have wished for death in order to know how good it is to live" (also Alexandre Dumas)
