  • Nicos, how comes you're getting away with the festive season word and not a pointy stick in sight even though we're nowhere near 1 December? Is VC away?

Chilly morning, but no frost overnight. Sky bright and blue. The Spanish weather agency is already reporting on the snowline in our area, quite a way up in the mountains, but no rain for us, seemingly.

So, today's plan is to get a load of work out the way. If I don't, I'm in big trouble. So better get on with it.

    Have a great day, everyone.

    • Morning, grey and dull here. Sun is due to make an appearance later.
That’s good, cause I have washing to do.
My visit to Ikea got cancelled yesterday. That was a blow, was looking forward to that. Next week maybe
So, today it’s waiting for a Royal Mail parcel - new radio. The house is so quiet without our old, dead one.
Garden wise, hubbys lawn is looking lovely, he really has made a great effort with it.
Our flowers and bedding plants are still absolutely gorgeous.
      Have a lovely day

        • Good morning all.
Dull and grey and just 9 deg.
          Granddaughter coming in for lunch.
          Taking her to the library.
          Nothing else planned so far.
Our dahlias are still flowering so still a good bit of colour in the garden.
          Have a good day all.

And your hands begin to harden.

          • I cannot understand this love affair folk have with Ikea(other poor quality manufacturers are available), I let my wife, along with assistance from our daughter, talk me into buying bedroom furniture from them. Less than 5 years old and the doors are warped and everything is falling to bits on them, I understand the hanger rail bending under the weight of my wife's clothes collection, that would happen if they'd used the same stuff they made the Forth rail bridge from, but the rest is just lousy materials and manufacturing methods. Never again!!

            • Burnie, shouldn't this have been a minor rant?

MFI was even worse! Gone off the IKEA meatballs.

              • What a lovely afternoon it’s been, balmy sunshine.
When I pegged the washing on the line this morning I quickly worked out that every pair of leggings that fit were on it, ditto for 3 new comfy bras.
Hence me wearing a nice, long summer dress today. Thank the lord it turned out nice.
                All back to normal tomorrow
                Have a lovely evening
PS the thing for me with IKEA is that hubby will not take me, so for a friend to offer is a big deal.
We only go for a looksy, coffee and buy a few bits we don’t really need

                          • Mornings!
Early start here, as well.. have to show a newbie the available plots at 9, to see what he thinks. They're all waist-high with weeds (and above in places) so hope he's up for the job.

See how it feels out there, whether I stay there for a while or come straight home, as it's grey, damp and dismal. Not the best weather for a viewing but hey ho. Later I've sewing to do - fabric shopping bags for my daughter and DIL. They want tasteful/pretty cheeky whatsits

                            Have a good'un

                            • Morning, everyone.

The weekend. And a proper weekend. The most work I'm going to do is billing. Off out shopping in a bit and no other plans till tomorrow late afternoon to meet up with a friend.

Friend dropped in yesterday. Mr Snoop told him about the spring at the end of our valley at last drying up. This is the first time in village history. Said friend bumped into the forestry agent a couple of days back and the pair of them lamented the state of the countryside. Apparently our side of the village is better off than the far side, which is drier and dotted with dead and dying trees. Desertification here we come. When we arrived just over eleven years ago, we never expected this.

Anyway, enough doom and gloom. Time to get the coffee on. Help yourselves and have a good day.

Nothing much going on this morning and then work later.
Better weather due from tomorrow, we are lucky down south this year.
