Good afternoon all,had an easy day,and an afternoon nap,a few more are needed,i rang the carpet place,kept saying sorry,but,I know what i was tolled,said it is definately booked in for NEXT monday,so it's great living in an echoing lounge dinner,furniture ext stuffed into other rooms,and no curtains,the only consolation is,the walls look lovely plus i hope to be fresher for putting the furniture back in place,you are a go getter with preserves Nicos,hope you get done what you want in time,oooh i hear MR up,by for now.

Good evening, a cloudy sometime wet day today, no gardening done as we were over helping our friend again today, managed to build up her table and chairs also got her garage cleared and stuff placed on shelves in the garage, won't be able to get over again for the rest of the week as we have the four boys, finished the day by going to a garden club, where it was about preparing for winter, though this year winter is a bit later, well enjoy your week, need to head for bed as I am now starting to fall asleep while writing this

Started getting rid of the bedding plants yesterday, they have done extremely well this year

However we too have mist this morning Bren.
Just before dark we sat watching 2deer grading in the field behind our house. So pretty!

Didn't get time to pick the apples yesterday-will try and get it done today...failing that it HAS to get done tomorrow before we go away. The longer we leave it the more darned apples need stewing down and freezing.

Nicos -The error message appears (sometimes) when I like posts and then the like doesn't show, the like line just goes hazy IYSWIM?

Very damp this morning, even inside the greenhouses, but the sun is up, so will walk around to the plots with the kitchen peelings, even if not much gets done.

Baby sitting this morning, this is the first time for my new grandson.
Hope to get out in the garden this afternoon.
Having some of the family for dinner tonight.

Sunny here, but great looking forecast for tomorrow and Friday: another 50 mm of rain predicted. Ground still soft from the last lot, so there's a good chance of it soaking in so long as it's slow and steady. Mr Snoop says we need to get the drive redug and gravelled, the last lot was so violent at times. That's not so good, but it'll only be the second time in eleven years, and I was expecting to have to do it more regularly than that. The last man we used did a brilliant job, but sadly he had to sell his JCB to survive the economic crisis here, so we'll have to go looking for someone else.

Not much other news. Work calls again, but Mr Snoop has donated me a diary, so the likelihood of me double-booking myself for new jobs is much reduced. So that's also good news.

When I read Snoops post I don't know whither I should consider myself fortunate or unfortunate, as there is definitely no shortage of rain here, was discussing raised beds last night and it was mentioned that the recommended width for them was 4ft. but I like mine a bit wider than that, as I have found anything narrower than 6ft. I have to water, this year had been the first for a long time I have needed to water, so perhaps though its not the driest or sunniest place to be it still has advantages, now going to get ready to head to my sons as my daughter will be home shortly, as she is stopping early today, and I better put my hearing aid back on, the younger of daughters two has been practising with a new pedal thing for his electric guitar, in between practising his drums

late evening all,just ordered the new curtains on line,the shop did not have the size i wanted,at least i will not have to lug them about so much,i have chosen silver grey,got the last 2 cushions from shop,so MR can see what i chose,they really compliment the pale grey and duck egg colored interior,hope the weather will be kind over the weekend,as i have things to move onto sons plot i am getting a share of,before the end oh the year,all go here when i get going heheheh,sweet dreams whoever are still about,not long before i hit the sack.
